The Lance - Hawes deal (the one that ultimately landed us Jeremy Lamb) was a bad deal? Come again?

I hope he and MJ don't draft a wing player in next draft. 3D's are cheap to find, it's way harder to get a good two ways big and among the names in next draft, some may fit that role, in a draft pretty deep in talents.

Maybe it's a smokescreen though considering the trade deadline (knowing Lamb is doing everything to be valuable).

Finding 3D players that actually play defense and shot above 37% are fairly hard to find.

James Ennis is having a slip in his 3pt shooting, but he would fit that bill at a measly $3 mill.

But I guess our scouting isn't great in the younger player dept

The Lamb acquisition was good. But that could've been done without taking on Hawes' contract. We traded 1 year $9M of Lance for 3 years ~ $17M of a more useless Spencer Hawes.

Cho has done a pretty darn good job. I am going to eat some delicious crow on that. Charlotte to me seems like they will be picking anywhere from 17-23. If that is the case, I would love to figure out a backup point guard. Melo Trimble (Maryland), Juwan Evans (OK State), Jalen Adams (UConn) or Monte Morris (Iowa State). I'd prefer Evans, Adams or Morris, because while Trimble gets to the line, his shooting stats worry the heck out of me on the pro level. The other two, would be dope backups to Kemba.

I agree. Our scouting dept and ability to ID talent has been below average at best. This one of the main reasons I don't mind trading our first for proven talent (although I love prepping for the draft). I'm pretty sure we could land the #1 pick and still find a way to botch it.

To keep flexibility, Cho will look for rookie contracts so i don't see why they would shop the 1st for the upcoming draft, knowing there is a relative lesser risk to make a bad choice (from BPA to depth at pg/sf and pf/c).
If the projected cap for 2017 is still as rumored (around 102M), the team has basically no caproom to work with (and extension talks with Kemba obviously, as long as he remains healthy and productive).

2018/2019 could become a key off season to propel this team as a true contender.
But you better avoid the mistakes some teams made (Kings, Wizards, Trailblazers...). On the other hand, everyone is laughing at Philly, but things could change pretty fast in a very good way for them (as long as they stop trying to make teams overpay for their unwanted bigs).

We have Kemba under contract throb the 2018-19 season, seems highly unlikely that we are extending him this summer.

Im not laughing at Philly. They still havent even attempted to put together a balanced team to compete with and they are still solid when Embiid is on the court, and that is without Simmons. Once they get healthy theyll have an intriguing starting 5 with Bayless, Covington, Simmons, Ilyasova/Saric, and Embiid.

As for Cho, I like how I stood by him forever and as soon as I finally turned on him his plan came together and everything worked out. I got juked.

I still hate picking kaminsky over Winslow but I can see the logic. I thought Winslow paired with mkg and batum would give us a "switch everything" rugged defense that could potentially lead the league if we found a decent defensive anchor . I never expected Winslow to not be able to shoot but heck frank can't shoot either...

Zeller over Noel was the pick that made me livid but looks OK in retrospect. I still think Noel could be a title contending starting center eventually but his health is concerning and zeller is fantastic.

McRoberts was obviously a good deal at the time IMO.

Hayward I thought was an overpay but SAMSONITE, I WAS WAY OFF!

The first go around with Marvin worked well but it looks like round 2 is headed for disaster unfortunately

Rich
After last night's game and our record being 24-31,I'm sure you MJ and Coach will be sitting down today. I'm sure y'all will be evaluating
our players and mapping out where we go from here. It will take 18-9 to make the 8th seed and be swept by the Cavs. :sigh: :upset:
FYI---The truth is that is not what the fans want. They want you to rebuild through trades and the draft. Move Frank to Center and evaluate his numbers the rest of this season with Plumlee backing him up. Trade Cody/Mkg for a rebounding power forward and a solid scoring small forward. Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Faried from Denver works even if we have to throw in a protected future 1st.

Have the worst offseason ever, panic and trade for overpaid Plumlee and get REWARDED by being allowed to stay on board! Does Cho have some incriminating pics of MJ? No one can be that dumb!

There are times when I wonder how many of these calls are actually Cho's.
