For like the fifth time, Lance wasn't insulted at all. Nothing mean spirited or untrue was said about him. He also did nothing over the following three months to merit anything but insults.

For like the hundredth time it is insulting to call one guy out for something while someone else is doing it way worse. That is a tremendous insult to anyone who has any pride whatsoever. Al was the least effort on the court in every game yet it was never mentioned like Lance was. That is insulting to people. Did Lance deserve to be criticized? Yes but so did other players that Clifford chose not to call out.
Now though like I said the whole thing is on Lance because there is no way to fix Clifford's mistake. Lance needs to up his effort like. Al did when he saw how much better we played without him. Biz lit a fire under Al but only Lance can light his fire.

Coaches and organizations that do not want the Stephensons, Artests, and Rodmans of the world I respect and understand. However, when you make a voluntary decision, or your boss does, to bring them in then YOU have to have a plan and multiple contingencies to make it work. These personalities have rare and special talent otherwise they would not be in the league at all as a run of the mill talent. These guys in this class are all a little crazy and emotional so you need plans with special rules.
It is clear that Clifford's ONLY plan was to put Lance in his place and humble him and knock him down a peg, DAY 1. The Clifford way or no way.
This started from day one,I repeat. November 1st he was calling out Lance publicly downgrading his game and expectations and saying literally he couldn't compare to the great Al jeff(despite the fact lance played in more big games in one year than AL the whole 10 years). At the same time Al jeff and Kemba were playing like crap but they got the freedom to work out their issues on the court. Game 1 Lance was "unorganized" according to Cliff when he was simply doing what he does. If you re watch those early games Clifford was yelling at lance every time he had the ball.
Lance was simply ridiculed by his coach(and yes it is ridicule when you believe you are an All-Star and the expectation was that the franchise you signed with thought you were as well BUT your coach publicly says many times that you are not that good).
If Lance would have been unleashed then he is an All-Star.Short of that, work with him, give him confidence, allow a little freedom, give and take and you a least have 2014 Pacer Lance. (rhythm, uptempo, baseline, right side, right corner 3s,off the ball movement).
I will stop here but when I saw CLifford calling plays out to Lance the whole fourth quarter of a 40 point Denver blowout then I was sure this would not end well.

I think that we are starting to get into 50 shades of teal territory now....
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I guess it is about time I got even with him for all of his stuff I had to read in the past.

Until maybe the last couple posts (where candidly I was posting on the go) I thought it was an interesting and worthwhile discussion. Obviously if anyone thought differently they should've just stopped checking it, but I appreciated reading and reacting to jdm's take and seeing his responses.

I actually Beelieve that Lance has the capability of giving us 15-6-6-2(20-24 mpg) nights off the bench and not disrupt anybody. Just need to play him at the right times. Lets get rid of all the negative talk and try to give him encouragement.Re: We Are Stuck With Him - The Lance Stephenson Thread II

Just bench him already. We can't trade him anymore so it's not to try to big up his value. He's just not any good right now and maybe never. Shouldn't be playing unless it's out of necessity. We have PJ and Taylor on the bench as holdovers and that Daniels guy.

If Lance could give us that off the bench he would be starting or be the 6th man of the year. Im not giving anyone encouragement who says that maybe going home over the all star break will make his hunger for the game come back or whatever he said. Thats BS. Hes getting paid 9 million dollars to play a game. Having to try and get your hunger back when you are 24 years old is the dumbest excuse ive ever heard in my life. Screw him.

I'm not giving up on him. He plays with the 2nd unit and is the only guy "capable" of doing anything at all on offense. I think we can limit his minutes, but he should be the first guy off the bench, so that he gets to play with Mo and Zeller. They are good fits with Lance. The guys he's playing with can't do ****

Im not giving up on him, but his comments during the break were disturbing to me and complete BS. I hate hearing stuff like that from players. Especially very young guys like him. Not like hes been in the league for 15 years or something. I bet he had a hunger for basketball when he was playing for a contract last year.

Re: We Are Stuck With Him - The Lance Stephenson Thread II
I have absolutely 0 expectation for Lance at this point. Between the situation with him and Cliff (it's on both of them) and his apparent lack of motivation I don't think that we will see anything more than we have to this point in the season.
Lance was a high risk / high reward move. The team gambled and lost. Time to start thinking about how to cut losses. Honestly I kind of wish that the team would put him on the inactive list and just get him off the court for a few weeks - or even the rest of the season. Then re-evaluate in the summer if he can work on the team next year (maybe with a new coach), if there are trade opportunities, or if he could just be cut with the stretch provision.
