Nice contract

Although I'm still sipping the JT kool aid and want to see how he plays as a starter

Good deal. He can't shoot 3s but 6 a year is a solid and moveable contract.

Pretty much the exact same gap contract that we gave Wallace - which is what I said I thought we should do months ago, so obviously I like it.

$6M a year is a great deal for someone whose only real weakness is his 33% three-point shooting, which is easily remedied by one of the greatest shooters of all-time who just happens to be on our coaching staff. This is where it pays to be a team that always slips under the radar. If Gerald was playing for LA and had a streak like he had post all-star break, he'd be making Derozan money easy.

how bad does that derozan deal look right now?

thankfully the gms around the league had some sense this summer and signed decent sgs to deals much lower.

good deal for hendo and cats. if he blows up, he can get a new deal in two years. hendo and jefferson set to expire at same time opening up a lot of money around the time we would need to sign mkg, zeller etc...

now that you got your money hendo, get your ass behind that 3pt line and dont stop shooting until you can hit 35% from straight away and 40% from the corners.

About 20 people said anything between 6-6.5 a year. Everyone knew he wasn't getting 8 anywhere, especially the longer it dragged on. Good deal for us.

I'm talking about before free agency started. Everyone kept tossing $8 million around like Hendo had that type of clout.

Some were tossing $10 million around at the end of last season...

there were a lot thinking 8mil might be the number. prior to july, all we had to go on were the afflalo and derozan deals. thankfully the gms set the number at 6-8 mil for sgs this summer and not 8-10. we were all getting nervous when the first sg deal of the summer that was reported was the evans deal at 40+.

"He finished last season strong, averaging 23.9 points over the last 23 games, on 48 percent shooting from the field and 86 percent from the foul line."

I knew he finished strong, but 24 a game through any stretch is very impressive. If he keeps working on that three point shot we could have a huge bargain.
