You guys are getting me turned on with these Russell ideas.

I'm just sitting here hoping that Kawhi stays in Toronto and we can dump Batum on the Lakers.

I've been lamenting the apparent lack of any plan. In a void I like the idea of trading Batum for DLo, but that wouldn't feel like the continuation of any specific strategy.

It seems like we would have to give up a pick like maybe Cleveland’s second to have them actually consider this deal but I’m all for it at that price

GSW are basically trading Iggy and two 1sts for DLo. I kinda doubt they move him for Batum even if you throw in a 2nd. MIN also may offer a better package by including RoCo.

I mean I'd be cool with a DLo/Rozier backcourt

Haha Jesus, no wonder we are never happy with a trade or signing. This is just unrealistic...

Then when we don’t get him everyone is made we didn’t make a serious play....

I know it doesn't seem realistic, but who knows. We don't know what GSW value or want.

Agreed.

I'm not saying my trade suggestion and idea will happen, but I wouldn't have thought it realistic that we lose Walker for nothing or Butler would sign a max contract with Miami or the Knicks would have traded Porzingas or Lillard would get $100mil over 2 years or New York load up on no-name PG's and PF's all at once or Golden State would have traded for a re-upped Russell in the 1st place.

Lots and lots of weird and wonderful things happen in the NBA!!

We should give up an unprotected 1st in 2020 and a right to swap 2021 1sts to get rid of BatUM. I said it.

So we would give up a likely top 3 pick in the draft to save money for one year? Great plan, Mr. Cho

Yeah, cannot sign off on giving up any high lotto picks. I'm happy to make it top 7 or 8 protected though, since I think we've got enough 9-12 picks on our roster at this point.

Cody, Marvin and a pick for Russell.

Think that helps GS. They need bigs and Marv fits well. Probably still too good for us though, we dont really have anything to offer assuming they dont want prospects.

Marv does fit well, and so does Cody who is great at setting screens, and GSW does a lot of screening

I also think MKG could be a possible stop gap replacement for losing the defense of Iggy

Doubt it....but who knows anymore

If Kawhi goes to the Lakers the Raptors might want to do a sign and trade like the Warriors did to bring in some wing depth. And since the Lakers have no one to send out a third team would need to be involved. We have a Nic Batum they can have for free.

Heck the team could send Biz back along with someone like MKG.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Since all of their contracts expire this season (Lowry, Gasol, Ibaka) I think the Raptors would actually prefer someone signed to a 2 year deal that they can flip next season.

The problem with trading with the Raps is they lack a good range of contracts.

Marc/Kyle and Ibaka are on 21 to 31m. Assume they wont trade those guys.

Then Powell and VanVleet are on 8-9m.

Then rookie deals/min guys.

Our contracts dont match with theirs.

I don’t think the Warriors are even allowed to trade Russel till December 15th

Hornets fans: Batum is awful and his contract is untradeable.

Also Hornets Fans: Wonder if Warriors would take Batum for Russell
