This has been a wonderful start to the championship, I expected a whole lot less goals, however almost all games have been pretty entertaining. I loved how Shevchenko scored two goals like it were the early 2000's.

i forgot to record the games today. i wish espn was showing replays later in the day on one of their 75 channels. one thing i like about fox soccer, if you miss a game you will get 5 more chances to see it.

loved seeing spain tie. 6 midfielders and no strikers. give me a break.

how did england and france look today? that england squad isn't scaring anyone.

New US kits look great. To me, it just isn't America if it doesn't look a little kitschy, like a Capt. America uniform.

About as good/weak as I expected, the game could have been more interesting. I wouldn't be surprised that Ukraine and Sweden beat those two or at least play a good game.

for some reason i have never been able to get espn3 in charlotte. it always tells me it doesnt support time warner in charlotte.

i have to find a stream for the usa game tonight. sucks that game won't be on tv here. i can stream usa while watching nba finals and recording workaholics.

You just need like first 15 minutes of each half (besides the very fnal minutes) of the first game(GRE-CZE), the rest is not really worth looking (I guess I should avoid spoilers here, right? I hope I was vague enough). Not the most attractive group anyway. Unless you count street fights as well (ridiculous from uefa to choose a german referee from poland - russia problematic game full of nationalism on both sides, that was surely capable to add another flavour)

This game has been much more exciting than yesterday's. Spain is good but can be boring.

i cant believe germany went out like that. why do they do that all the time - play so great in early rounds only to disappear in the later rounds. sorry det.

shame portugal couldnt have knocked off spain yesterday. its not often i get to root for ronaldo.

go italy..... unless torres gets an unlikely start, then i will root for spain.

Squadra Azzurra!!!!

Being an Italy fan, I have to say that this probably is my favorite Italy team of all time and that includes the 2006 one. I just love the trip from the betting scandal to the final of the Euros.

Well, that's not a typical German thing.
It just looks like a Schweinsteiger & Lahm led team can't win anything as they aren't as great at leading a team in crucial games.

Schweinsteiger also never found his rhythm during the tournament and you could just see that he was injured for most of the season.

All things considered, we just need to hope that Khedira, Özil, Hummels etc. will fill those roles and have bigger roles at the next WC.

BTW: I blame this loss on Löw. He changed the starting formation to match it with Italy and you just don't do that.
They had huge problems on both left and right back and he started Podolski at the left wing and no one on the right wing.

It sure was a nice idea to try and limit Pirlo with Kroos(who again played very mediocre), but he should've at least played Reus on the wings, as Podolski isn't a guy that can go one on one.
Once Reus was subbed in he created havoc and had a couple of chances or created some.
I think those two games have shown that Dortmund invested those 17+ mil very wisely.

i wasnt really impressed with podolski this tournament and i agree they should have gone with reus, who i thought looked good whenever he was on the field in this tournament.

italy isnt playing like italy. its so strange. that 2nd goal by balotelli was just ridiculous.

That 2nd goal was just a total joke, talking about the German "defense".
You could've fielded a team of under 11 year old kids and they couldn't have defended it any worse than our back four did.

Anyways, it was just the way it always goes, as Italy's our kryptonite and we just can't defeat them in tournament games.

BTW: My club signed central back Alvaro Dominguez of Atletico Madrid this week and might be close to signing dutch striker Luuk de Jong of Twente Entschede. Dominguez was part of the spanish national team but got cut before the tournament started, while de Jong was just sitting on the bench for the dutch team.

that 2nd goal was ridiculous on 2 levels. it was ridiculously awful defending by the germans, which seemed to be a theme for the entire game and it was also a ridiculously awesome finish by balotelli. he couldnt have hand placed that shot any better.
