This is purely hypothetical, since its impossible... but what if the NBA offered MJ to swap the Hornets and Bobcats after this season, and move the Bobcats to another city?

Would you be opposed? On one hand, we'd get the Hornets name back, a superstar and winning team and a contender in the East...but the possibility that our superstar would leave after the 1st season and send the Hornets into a rebuilding phase.

On the other, we've grown accustomed to our Bobcats, Gerald, etc....they've always been OUR team, and not somebody elses.

What would you choose?

Did you know that Charlotte games actually sell well, and hell last time I checked NO was a larger city XD

There was nothing to follow, I was strictly saying that Charlottes ticket sales are good despite not being in a large city. I dont know how Hornets Tickets sold while they were in NC, but quite frankly I dont get why they moved to the New Orleans Fishbowl....

...Charlotte itself is double the size of New Orleans, and the metro area is 50% bigger.

I would take back the Hornets in a millisecond and never think twice.

the charlotte hornets led the league in attendance for something like 7 straight years. unfortunately, george shinn was one of the worst owners in the history of sports and ruined the relationship in charlotte beyond repair.

An element of guilt – certainly NBA culpability – exists here as well. Shinn was trouble the minute he bought the expansion Charlotte Hornets and implemented an unprecedented pre-introduction invocation. As it turns out, he had neither a clue nor a prayer.

His repeated personnel gaffes, bizarre managerial style, heavy-handed demands for a new arena and, most notably, the civil charges against him for sexual assault (a jury found in his favor) alienated an impassioned Charlotte fan base that led the NBA in attendance from 1988 to 1996. The league grudgingly, reluctantly and now regrettably approved his request to relocate to New Orleans in 2002, an even more problematic small-market location long before the disasters.

Raymond is having a great season, anyone watching Knicks games will tell you so. I've seen almost every game and he's been very impressive with his leadership abilities and also knowing when to shoot, when to pass and when to take it upon himself to get into the lane and create. And I've killed Raymond a ton when he was here, but he's stepped it up and done a very good job running D'Antoni's offense. I'm happy for him because he's a good guy and NY is the best place to play when you're winning games. It's like night and day between our fan bases.

Ray Ray with 20 points at the half. Playing like an all star, he single handedly brought the knicks back from 13 down in just a few minutes to close out the half. Knicks up 2 at half. Wow what a performance!

how frustrating is it to wait 5 years on ray to play like a lotto pick only to see him do it once he leave

Very frustrating. TBH, I'm convinced that we have some kind of PG curse. I have a feeling that if DJ went to another team, he'd probably average 20ppg.

D'Antoni's system is working out for Felts.

Well he did play well during the regular season last year, just ran out of gas at the end. So we'll see how he holds up playing all these minutes in NY, especially with the much faster pace. But he's been impressive and it looks like he was born to play an up tempo style. (less thinking more instinct)

Violet Palmer sucks.
