I would take Rondo over Paul 5 days a week.

If Rondo could shoot the 3 pointer I think he would be without a doubt the best PG in the NBA. Paul is injured too frequently and while he is a more efficient scorer he won't post the ridiculous numbers that Rondo will every now and then (I am referring to his triple doubles)

Yea, been a Rondo supporter forever. Thought he was unnecessarily hated on during the draft process because of the reins Tubby had on him at Kentucky. He always looked amazing in the youth team USA stuff. Wouldn't call myself a Celtics fan, but I don't have any problem hanging at pubs rooting for Rondo...

Apart from Deron Williams and a healthy Derrick Rose, I think I would take Rondo over any PG in the league, Paul included.

His shaky jumper is the only thing keeping him from being a HOF caliber player.

He's an elite defender, still and dangerous offensive threat off the dribble and one of the most accomplished playmakers you'll find.

Paul is a more complete player but really it's up for debate.

Rondo could still get into the HoF with a couple more finals runs.

He really needs to take a cue from Kidd in this regard and develop a set shot or something. Kidd was an awful shooter forever until he figured out to shoot spot up 3s.

True enough and I'm admittedly biased b/c I think Paul is a complete POS. (Still hold a grudge from when he sucker punched Julius Hodge in the nuts during college) Plus, he flops like crazy.

Any guy that can home in on John Stockton records is the mutha-effin real deal (Rondo). My brother saw him play in HS b/c he covers HS basketball for an online website and he said Rondo was like an alien, the things he could do.

I like Rondo until I realize that he's absolutely worthless in the last two minutes of a tight game.

Are you crazy? He's had as many clutch moments as anyone. Though his free throw shooting can make him a liability near the end, you could say teh same about a lot of players.

Rondo with a consistent three-point shot and free throws is the third best player in the NBA behind Lebron and Durant.

Yeah, I said it.

And Kemba with a consistent shot is Monta Ellis.

... Who is nowhere near as good as Rondo.

Rondo is far and away better than every PG not named Deron, Derrick, or Chris. I'd take Rondo over every PG in he league other than maybe Deron and that has a lot to do with me being a Deron homer.

If presented with the opportunity to get Rondo, you do it 100% of the time. Kemba is not even in the same stratosphere as a guy like Rondo and you'd have to either be blind or a gigantic Kemba fanboy to not realize it.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22 ... rogression

3.8 assists in 29.2 minutes before All Star break

4.9 assist in 25 minutes post All Star break.

great improvement by Kemba..7-8 APG should be possible next year in starter minutes even if he stays the same as he is now and all other variables of the team also stay the same...if he improves his game and we get a good offensive coach...and all the other potential improvements we could have next year who knows?

Kemba 16/4.5/9 next year 8-)

9 assists if he improves, coach actually knows what hes doing, draft pick doesnt bust and roster improves.

statistically 7+ is already given assuming he gets the minutes if he doesnt somehow get worse next year. which I suppose could happen. 15/7 could be a low prediction to go along with my previous high prediction of 16/9 :)

K2H, I think that you are a little over enthusiastic. Usually only the elite playmakers average 9 assists for the whole season. This season only three players finished up that high in assists. Rhondo, CP3, and D.Rose. While I would love for Kemba to join such company he has a very long way to go to become an elite playmaker, and I am a supporter. I would be very happy to see him finish with 7. 8 would be thrilling. 9 just isn't very realistic.

i am not K2H

I don't think I'm too hopeful in Kemba, unless expecting a rookie to improve his game in the offseason is too hopeful. idk. like i said, 7 is already pretty much a given if he gets the minutes, unless you think the entire last 2 months of the season were a fluke I guess. theres also the possibility he gets worse in the offseason but I have no reason to assume that would happen

More likely too hopeful in getting a coach here that knows what he's doing to improve our offensive system/defense to get more fast breaks (easier points), an improved roster,

I think that was rebounds.

You do realize only three players averaged over 9 assists per game last year, right? Kemba isn't gonna be #4.

Even 7 is not a "given", in fact 7 would be ridiculous.

Also it's Rondo, not Rhondo.
