So, if Devin Booker is getting the max, there is about a 0.001% chance Kemba doesn't get the max.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

This should take them out of competition with us for a backup PG as well.

Happy Independence Day everyone! Please remember how blessed and fortunate we are to live in The United States of America.

Keith Smith’s tweet about lots of PG’s still out there. I must be missing something, but I don’t see many left who are worth much. Napier would seem to be the next option. Who else?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Napier, Mack, and Parker are probably the best available... unless you want Thomas. Smart will end up back on the Celtics with a deal similar to exum.

Is there anyone left worth spending the full MLE on? I think someone said we have around $8m with it?

The Clippers need to clear a roster spot for Harrell. We can take Beverly off their hands and keep the MLE for future use.

Bobby Marks says we actually only have $5 million to spend.

Despite having both the non-tax midlevel and biannual exception, Charlotte will need to keep an eye on the luxury tax. Using both would not only hard-cap the team but put the Hornets right at the tax as well. Expect the Hornets to use $5 million of the non-tax exception and target a backup point guard and also sign second-round pick Devonte' Graham. Signing Graham to a contract longer than two years will require the Hornets to use part of the midlevel exception.

They can spend up to the full amount if they want, he's hypothesizing they'll use no more than the taxpayer MLE to avoid the hard cap. Which is possible, but doesn't really serve much purpose as the hard cap is $6M over the tax and we're not going near that.

They will need to keep him if they trade Ingram in a package for Kawhi.

No clue where he's getting that number. The lux tax is $123.7M, we're at $114.9M. The full MLE is $8.6M, we have $8.8M under the luxury tax, and that is including Julyan Stone's unguaranteed $1.7M contract. Even if we're using part of the MLE to sign Devonte, we will still have more than $7M left from the MLE and under the tax.

Why is the narrative that Durant is considered a sellout or a snake for joining a super team, yet nobody heaps the same criticism on LeBron/Wade/Bosh for forming the exact same thing and doing all the parties and not 1, not 2, not 3 stuff?

Is it really just because the Warriors were already good?

Pretty much, yeah, though those guys did get a lot of criticism back then also. Those guys got together and decided to make their own super team. Durant couldn't beat the team with the best record in NBA history so he joined them. Big difference in narrative.

I don't blame the Warriors at all for doing what they have done...they are an extremely well run and lucky organization, but Durant is the epitome of what's wrong with people today IMO. The spirit of competition is just destroyed...That's certainly something I miss about the old days, there's very little team pride or rivalries anymore and it makes things less interesting to watch.

LeBron cries to the referees constantly. He evokes sympathy and evades accountability. His fans buy in. He complains he never played on a superteam. They believe it. He has though. And no, he wasn't fouled on that drive. Not a foul but cry cry cry.

I can't wait for both Lebron and Durant to retire. The league will be better without them.

Neither guy could win big.

One built a superteam
One joined a superteam.

I don't see the big difference in narrative. They both ran away from their current teams to be part of a superteam. They were both already on very good teams to begin with.

Again, I just don't see the difference here from the Nationally televised special to "take my talents to South Beach" and join the Banana Boat crew, then have a huge party to claim not 1, not 2, not 3, etc.

Every player has the right to choose his team via free agency. Both piggy backed on winning situations. But only one cries about the unfair advantage, denying he ever played on a superteam. I never once heard Durant cry or make false claims. He just goes about his business. I watched the 90's Bulls dominate and I hated it. I hated watching MJ win every year and have to hear Marv Albert bust a nut on every basket. But MJ was entertaining. Durant is entertaining. LeBron is entertaining. Personality shows more now because social media. That's where LeBron is a turn off for me. Plus compared to Jordan, he exploits his size and bullies points. That's less entertaining than MJ, even Durant.
