Presti is hot now after taking West to school. He would probably fleece Mitch as well, future draft picks, pick swaps, etc. MJ would probably love to get a Jordan brand player here. If we could get rid of just guys like Batum, Marvin, MKG and keep our young core and not sacrifice picks, sure. Otherwise no. Presti would not do that anyway.

I’d trade Monk a future 1st and Batum no questions asked. Would be fun for Westbrook/PJ/Miles/Rozier to play together.

Do whatever it takes, short of trading the B & B Boys, Bacon and Bridges, or next year's first-round pick. Westbrook would make the Hornets relevant again.

No, we would be in the same position we were in with Kemba, but with a 6-7 seed treadmill instead of a 9-10 seed treadmill. they aren't trading him for our stuff.

How do we get him without giving up everything we have?

Trade next years 1st. It’s a recent MVP. The issue is he probably has zero desire to play here, albeit it is Westbrook and I never actually know what he’s thinking.

If we resigned Kemba, I would have given OKC two firsts if they took MKG, Batum, and Monk.

We could've had Kemba, Westbrook, Miles (or Bacon), Marv, Zeller with Bacon (or Miles), Devonte, PJ, MLE big off the bench. That's not a contender but it's a really fun team for a few years. :(

Lord. When i see names flying like Love and Westbrook, after reading so many times hornets FO have no plan, it's hard not to /facepalm. You chose to go young, you give them the opportunity to play and learn.

There is just no point in looking behind or in the past at players who had their time of glory (i am nice with Love who is probably the most overrated player in recent history). I 'd MUCH rather see this time really work on finding the new gems and developing them.

That being said, i d gladly do a Monk/Batum for Adams - then try to get A; Bradley here - but okc will try to sell him for lottery picks obviously (and this franchise would be beyond dumb to get rid of any 1st picks).

OKC trade, but not what you might think.

MKG, Marv and Cleveland 2nd for Roberson (expiring), Grant (3yrs at 9m) and Patterson (expiring).

Basically, swapping expiring deals and getting Grant. Who is a nice fit with our other wings/bigs.

Knicks get: WB and Charlotte 2nd
OKC get: Marvin, MKG, Frank N and 2 Knicks 1st's and Charlotte 2nd
Charlotte gets: Grant and Smith Jr.

:o :o I look for the Knicks with the cap space they have to try to get Westbrook.Charlotte may be able to get in on a 3 way and send some of our expiring contracts back to OKC.... maybe Biz MKG and Hernangomez and get back Mitchell Robinson from OKC and Nilikki from NYK.That would free up cap space + add A PG and Center projects to our bench.
Whatever makes the numbers work, I think SOMEHOW OR SOMEWAY WE CAN HELP OKC IN THEIR FIRESALE AND HELP OURSELVES ADD QUALITY PLAYERS AND CLEAR CAP SPACE. LET SOME OTHER TEAM HAVE WESTBROOK AND ADAMS

Clearly Charlotte is shopping players, particularly Batum, who I hope can be shown the door. I hope we don’t take on a ridiculous deal or give up first round picks for any trade (although I was willing to swap Bats for Wiggins). I like the notions relative to deals with OKC that have nothing to do with the prima dona Westbrook. Just hard to see any team taking on the French mistake. He is about as radioactive as they come. It appears he just stopped trying. Maybe he got on the fun train that we’ve seen some evidence of in social media (pics from a lot of parties). Maybe he’s become another pothead who just has no motivation. Teams hear about that stuff...they have security people that investigate as part of player evaluations. Hope that’s not the case, as we need that expensive albatross to somehow get outta here.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Rozier is officially our point guard. Are we making peace with it yet?

Monk is unofficially our shooting guard for this reboot. I know, rocky relationship.

If Kupchak is talking playoff boosters with OKC, I would think he's more focused on Adams and maybe Gallo. If he can get them without selling off prospects or firsts, he will. We don't have a center prospect and Monk is not ready to be a primary scorer.

Westbrook is not an easy contract to move. He will be making 47 million dollars at the end of it. Presti has to leverage Westbrook's star power. The only big market team with cap in need of an alpha is the Knicks. And quite frankly, they're poised to exit a rebuild prematurely after what happened in Brooklyn.

Presti played the 2 LA teams, knowing Kawhi was gonna sign with LAL without George with LAC. These teams share the same freaking arena. So Presti priced George as if LAC were getting Kawhi in the deal.

Onto NYC. We're fine with Rozier. We need an alpha scorer on a short deal (for example Gallo over Wiggins, Love or Westbrook) and a big (Adams for example).

OKC is a one-stop shop for our playoff aspirations, but not for Westbrook.

I also think Westbrook fits well with Barrett. Barrett shares the ball but he can punish with shooting and scoring. Knicks can make the playoffs if they desire. They might could move Smith Jr. to the Wolves for a pick they can send to OKC for Westbrook as OKC has no use for Smith Jr with SGA there.

What are the Magic doing about point guard? They seem like a last ditch destination for Schröder.

OKC has 3 starting caliber point guards so I think the rumors about Westbrook working with them on a trade before the season are true.

I wanted the team to trade for Gallinari last season. He's the guy I most want from OKC. He'd be a great mentor and an example to strive towards for PJ Wash. If they're sending out Adams and Gallinari we should get in on that and send them Marvin/Biz/MKG's expirings for Gallinari.

Definitely. Give them the Cavs pick. If they decline, would you be willing to attach a lotto protected first with increasing protection? OKC would be betting we make the playoffs with Adams + Gallo.

I I wouldn't give up a first. Adams is a good player but he's overpaid by a fair margin and has another year remaining on his contract.

Mitch is in a tough situation in making any kind of trade to get rid of our bad contracts. If it would have been easy we would probably still have Kemba. The Hornets can not afford to give away our young guys or draft picks or even take on a worse contract. We have to realize that Batum, Cody, MKG, Marv, and Biz are all trash (repeat trash) and nobody wants trash without getting something good to go with it. Hopefully the expiring's can be moved at the trade deadline and Batum/Cody can be moved next year. Based on my observations of our young guys in the SL, we are going to be real bad next year unless Mitch can pull some magical feat this summer.
