If we trade LaMelo and tank even further than the chances his % tanks some is pretty high. On the season he has been better on the floor with LaMelo from a shooting% standpoint last I looked.

Not that any of it matters, our front office and coaching staff get excited about losing games.

Ill happily lose games if it means we move forward with Kon and a player like wilson/boozer as our new guys to build around. Cut ties with melo and bridges. Keep miller around because he can be a good one if healthy. If miller gets healthy and stays reliable kon/miller/wilson or boozer would be a really solid core build s team around. Better than trying to make it work with ball and bridges.

He doesn't excel when he's just given the ball early in the clock and then asked to score in isolation. He excels in off ball movement catch and shoot opportunities and screen actions, or finding teammates cuts.

that can work fine, you just need to educate the team to move and create opportunities for him to find you.

Dude would be an animal in a Borrego offense imo

Which is why im starting to more and more lean into the Klay comparison minus the defensive prowess but up the offensive IQ. Still mad early in his career but im thinking he will never be a super high usage guy like a Luka, Booker, Harden, but more of a guy that quickly makes the right play with the ball 80% of the time which let's him put up all star numbers still; I am more than happy with that.

Yeah I don't think he's a first option on offense guy, more like he projects to be an elite second or third option on a good team.

This is true to varying extents of the Hornets top 3 players (LaMelo/Miller/Kon). Which begs the question of why are they running a slow paced isolation based Celtics system? Who on the team is this supposed to be for? Theres not a single player on this roster who plays anything like Jayson Tatum or Jalen Brown, so why is this the vision for this team?

What's cool is that if you remove C&S threes, Kon still is top in his class for number of pull-up threes made and is shooting them at 61%.

what’s crazy is, this was a legitimate weakness for him as a draft prospect. Really, it was, he shot <20% on low volume for Duke, almost all his makes were C&S or movement shots.

I underestimated this kid, what a masterful shooter. He is working to perfect every aspect of his offensive game.

I'll say I thought it was cool seeing them put the ball in his hands to initiate in iso situations, especially late, but I think it also highlighted some concerns I have about folks wanting him to get more touches and/or be the #1 option.

Even with the better than advertised production, he still doesn't have the athleticism or length to make it work. Each time it resulted in blocks or bad shots.

He needs to get his buckets in the flow of the game. He's shown thus far to be very effective in that role. Let him do the Klay Thompson thing

He's no Kemba but he can keep defenders guessing at least

So I heard a few people make Booker comparisons. I didn't see it at all at first, but watching a sun games right now and watching these plays in the midrange/paint, im starting to see the vision

My first take from page 2. Pretty spot on.....
