Blazers get Robin Lopez for cash and future draft considerations. I would do that deal.

Oh well, we've got Big Al. We don't need the Big Goof Ball.

ps. the Kings are going to quickly look like a much better team with this new regime in place. Vasquez helps that roster more than Evans.

Can't help but feel the assets we could have picked up from the Warriors with our cap space would have been more than what we got with Big Al.

Bogut + Thompson for TPE and POR 1st.

Kemba/Thompson/MKG/Zeller/Bogut

Plus big cap space in 2014.

am i the only one who thinks the pelicans will regret giving up lopez and vasquez? i think both those guys were pretty good last year.

pelicans appear to have a nice top 5, but seemingly no depth behind it.

with cj watson signing with the pacers, i think there is a real chance that augustin is out of the league next year. teams looking for 2nd/3rd string point guard are usually going to look for either a player with an elite skill (defense or 3pt shooting), a vet who is a great leader or a young cheap guy with some upside. augustin is none of those things.

Nah I think he will get on with somebody you can never have too many experienced point guards...So many teams need backup points at this point too, and that is what he is.

yeah, but if you are a playoff team are you going to trust him with any minutes after seeing what he did in the playoffs this year? he was awful.

his best chance is to go back to a bad or young team to be a backup. maybe he can go be holiday's backup in new orleans. or backup whoever lands in dallas.

i would look for him to grab second string for a bad team.... Atlanta, Milwaukee, sixers, jazz or maybe a playoff team like warriors or lakers

No. You are not the only one, but I'm withholding judgement until I see what they do with Eric Gordon. If the Pelicans can swing a deal involving Gordon in which it brings them back good value or depth, then I have to believe the departures of Lopez & Vasquez were just a part of the makeover, and not exactly a loss

New Orleans rotation...

Jrue- Rivers
Gordon- Tyreke
Aminu(yet to sign)- darius miller
Anderson- Jason Smith
Davis- Withey

Yeah no bench...

I feel like Kings weren't matching so not sure why they decided to deal Vasquez and Lopez... they could use the depth for sure... Especially if Tyreke is forced to start at SF, by not signing aminu

CJ Watson isn't a lot better than DJ at anything (other than defense, but my grandmother can probably guard better than DJ). DJ will stick in the NBA, I have no doubts about that. For all the crap we've given him, he showed plenty of offensive potential in his first three years with us. He'll stick in the league for his ability to pass and shoot, something that a lot of backup guards can't do both of.

Tyreke, Rivers, and Withey are all going to surprise people next year. I think Withey has a future in the NBA as a solid backup big, Rivers is going to prove a bunch of RealGMers he's not the worst player in the NBA, and Tyreke could return to his 2010 form, where he was being called the next big thing. If Jrue keeps up his play from last year, and Gordon stays healthy, that team can be pretty scary, particularly in the backcourt, though I get the feeling Gordon is going to be traded for a frontcourt guy to pair with Davis. The first iteration of the Pelicans could be a really good young team.

I'm confused by the Pelicans giving up Vasquez and Lopez too. If the Pelicans can't swing a deal for a backup PG, I could see Augustin returning home to New Orleans. I know they said they would like to play Rivers at PG when they drafted him, but I would think that experiment is over. He's not a PG.

Overall their roster looks lottery bound as it is currently. They definitely need to spend more money on a competent big because that frontcourt looks soft. Davis isn't a good fit at C and I like Anderson better off the bench. Evans will definitely start at SF when he's not filling in at SG for an injured Gordon. I can see them taking a look at Pekovic, Bynum or Hickson next.

Yeah, I forgot to factor in Holiday's contract when checking out their roster. Looks like they're definitely lottery bound next season. The pick will likely go to Philly too, though I'm not sure what the protection is on it. If they can find suitors for Gordon, I'll be surprised.

how many teams and free agents and other players are waiting on dwight to finally grow a pair and make a decision? lakers, rockets, mavs, hawks, warriors, josh smith, paul milsap, nikola pekovic, andrew bogut, klay thompson, harrison barnes, richard jefferson, andres biedrins etc...

by the time he retires he may go down as the most disliked player of all-time.

I bet Bogut is heading to Utah.

I want to say this is more for Iggy than Dwight. Don't see Dwight going to GS.
