I think Charlotte would retain him for the right price. However, there are a lot of teams with a ton of cap space, Detroit being #1. Miles is also from Flint, and I do think the hometown will have some sway. If he ends up leaving it's because someone got ahead of their skis and offered him a bag.

I’m a lurking Detroit fan
I’m hoping we can sign Bridges. I’m not sure what our new management thinks but he would be a good fit for us. A few questions:
- what do you think the odds are of him staying in Charlotte?
- guess on salary range?
- any benefit for you to do a sign and trade?

Give us Isaiah Stewart in a sign n trade deal?

No, no, no. Detroit probably isn't good for this unless you really want a trade exception. Detroit wouldn't give up any real assets.

difference between "being a good fit" (with pistons) and "we have money and need more talent"

Brandon Miller says, huh??

We gonna trade for Zach Lavine after Bridges leaves us in FA aren't we?

When you lose a million games in a row having talent is all the fit you need

If they let Miles walk for nothing they are basically telling the fans they are tanking this season.

Not even sure Flagg will be the best player in that draft.

Ace Bailey might be the top prize. I swear he looks like a young Tmac.

Letting him walk for nothing seems crazy unless another team starts a wild bidding war or they are convinced hes too much of a crazy piece of ****.

Even if they wanted to tank this season they should try to lock him up on a deal that isn't too crazy and then look to trade him. Even if they didn't get a great return it would be better than nothing. Its not even like he is so good that if they sign him they will be a likely playoff team. You don't actually have to completely bottom out know to basically tank.

If anything signing Salaun gives even more leverage in Miles negotiations. I still wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back and figuring it out later.

we haven't heard a peep. miles/agents and team probably far apart on a deal, not a good sign heading into next week.
my feel-o-meter is miles is 75% gone

I just want Peterson to find a sign and trade at the very least. And after hearing him speak about what he liked about Salaun it's obvious he is NOT impressed with some of the guys in our locker room and wants to restart the team's culture. That probably means getting rid of some bad influences.

And speaking of looking for sign and trade spots. I'd be surprised to see Miles wearing teal/purple again at this point.

"Charlotte has pivoted from looking at upgrades to calling teams offering to use its cap space and trade players to take on future assets..."

direction had been decided, and it's not push for playoffs
wont be surprised to see bertans, curry, thor, bryce, poku all waived and micic traded.

I would take Cam Johnson as a salary dump. Are the Nets asking for more? If Miles is gone I want someone who can put the ball in the bucket.

He makes 25 million but Miles wants more.

Neither is higher than 3rd option after LaMelo & Miller. Cam Johnson is a better spacer than Miles.

Just flat out letting him walk makes no sense. And as far as the 2025 draft, I don't trust us to make the right pick unless it's #1 anyway. We'd totally come away with the Darko while the 4 teams around us land Lebron, Carmello, Wade and Bosh.

At this point I'm fine with getting Miles off the team to finally rid our selves of the 40 pound monkey on the back and stop hearing about his level of happiness here/what a POS organization we are/etc.

Trade for Cam, start Grant at the 4 and give Salaun all the backup forward minutes. LaMelo/Cam/Miller/Grant/Williams with Micic/Mann/Martin/Salaun/Richards off the bench. Sadly that probably still takes us into play-in/8th seed territory unless we have a lot of injuries again

look, every sign (drafting dijon, not having deal yet, rumors of taking on bad deals for picks) points to 2 things
1. we aren't trying to win next year
2. the new front office wants a culture change in the lockeroom

miles is 75% gone... the question is, do we get anything in return?
