It doesn't have to be discussed any further past this post, but I wonder if Cho would be interested in dealing the Portland pick for Lamb. OKC might even be willing to give Charlotte back their 2nd round pick in the exchange

Adding one of Noel or Bennett + J. Lamb would make me smile from ear-to-ear for a month straight.

Not sure I would want to give up that pick for Lamb. I would not hate it but would not love it either. Although if we took Len or Noel and got Lamb I think our team would be much improved after draft day.

Would you help HOU?

Post#1103 » by radtech » Wed Jun 19, 2013 1:25 am

Houston is going after Dwight Howard and Chris Paul hard and are willing to trade about almost anything to get those two stars salaries to fit under their cap. Would you accept a trade of Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin, and Thomas Robinson in exchange for a future number lottery pick?

The pros of the trade: improved starting line up by adding a starting center, a lottery pick in Robinson, and a starting point if not 6th man in Lin.

Lin's strength : Lin is a player who thrives when the ball is in his hands. He's surprisingly good at creating shots for a point guard and excels at driving to the rim.

Robinson's strength: He's athletic and long, and he finishes well at the rim.

Asik strength: Omer Asik was the most underappreciated player on the Rockets last season, and a case could be made that he was one of the most underrated in the NBA. He averaged a double-double of 10.1 points and 11.7 rebounds, shot 54.1 percent from the field and blocked 1.1 shots per game. Throw in the fact that he's never missed a game in his NBA career, and you've got yourself one of the most valuable big men in the game.

Lin and Walker can't exist because of both of their smallish stature so Lin will have to be the 6th man if not traded again. Teams like the Kings if they missed out on a point in the draft can use him. Toronto, Clippers, Pistons, Bucks, and so on to name a few. All depends on the draft and free agency so some team will lose out on their top option.

If we could pawn Lin off on someone or even Sessions and bring Lin off the bench I would be ok with this but not for anything much more than the Portland pick. You guys are trying to clear the room we don't have to have these guys. No reason for us to overpay for pieces that we don't need. Would not mind having Asik and Robinson here next season if the price is right.

I am pretty positive Houston is going to use those pieces to sign and trade Howard or perhaps other max free agent. They need Howard to decide, once he is on board, Lakers can't do anything about it and should be willing to get at least something back. And for Houston it creates more cap space much more convinient way then dumping quality players and prospect to remove they salaries for future value. Rockets are actually a team who can be a receiver in a sign and trade deal cause they are nowhere near luxury tax.

Hypothetical-

Which of these young bigs would you trade the #4 pick straight up for?
> Favors
> Kanter
> Cousins
> Valanciunas
> Monroe
> Drummond
> Henson
> Tristan Thompson

I personally would do any of these except for the last two straight up for the pick.

I think Monroe would fit like a glove next to MKG and Biyombo.

I wouldn't mind trading for Monroe or Kanter. Those two are the only ones who really seem like they would fit in Charlotte.

Is it just me or does it sound like Cousins is going to be traded?

Who says no?

Cho is not going to trade the 4 in a trade centered around nba players who may be good one day, but have been slow to reach their potential. He is most certainly not going to throw in Taylor.

Cousins wants max extension or trade:

I feel like Bobcats are the best match. Oodles of draft picks, young talent, cap space and the right coaching in place with Ewing and Clifford.

Absolutely. I would go all in for Cousins- give up our future picks (except for our own 2014 pick, which we can't do anyway). Everyone and everything but MKG and Kemba should be on the table right now.
