Re: 2020 Draft Discussion
If we trade back with the Knicks, I want Kupchak to get a slightly protected 2021 1st from them (top 2 I'd say) and the Dallas 20211st. If we can enter next offseason with 3 1sts in a strong draft combined with a nearly blank cap sheet we'll have maximum flexibility to make big moves.
That said I think the Wolves will end up accepting the above offer with an additional player like Knox coming back. The most likely outcome for us is to just stay at 3 and select the player we like the most.

You could argue we're the team most likely to retain Ball and stick by him while he develops. So the Knicks have 2 shots to stop him from falling to us. They claim they're interested in VanVleet but he doesn't make sense to a rebuild team. I think they're leveraging free agency to tame the asking price.
8 + Knox + 2021 1st gets it done.

Man, the more I watch I think I'm putting LaMelo in his own tier for this draft. Just clearly the best prospect the more I research. I want him in teal and purple worse than anything.

Yet another article that has been well researched that just makes Wiseman out to be an absolute disaster right now.

The dude is fool's gold, a relic of the old NBA where size and athleticism made a difference because the game was played so close to the basket.

VanVleet is a much better fit for the Knicks than Ball because not only is he a great facilitator and game manager but he can also shoot.

VanVleet is more of a win-now player though. Knicks are in a rebuild with a bare cupboard.
They made a contract offer to Terry last off-season - which makes sense. Why would you want a green, unproven PG to lead team of other, green unproven players.
Bringing in a young vet like Terry or VanVleet makes sense for them

True they offered Rozier but only after they missed out on Morant.

My biggest regret is still the same, why we took Monk over Mitchell? Say what you wanna say Monk's fans. I still dont like it. Monk wont go anywhere, he will just become a bench warmer journeyman who can get hot for a while and that's all. Along with his unprofessional behavior.

the only time Coach Clifford was 100% in the right.
Who know's what would have happened if we did get Mitchell. He would have started on the bench behind Batum, MKG as that is just what Clifford did. We would have still traded for Dwight as well, Charlotte didn't realise how bad that move was until the end of the year.

The wild card might be what the worst ran teams like the Knicks are willing to do.
I hope the knicks jump to 1 for LaMelo and that nobody else wants to move up with GS and they take Wiseman as best fit for their needs. That way we can land Edwards. That would be my best case scenario.
If the Knicks jump to one I wonder what the offer is. We don't want their scrubs. We might take Barrett and 8. We might need more.
The whispers are that it involves our 2021 unprotected first round pick.

8, Barrett and unprotected 21 FRP. Sign me up. 8 and unprotected 21? Maybe. Thanks for the tip.

Talks supposedly fell apart. Our new FO apparently found asking price too steep. We’ll see.

Isn’t Mitch high on LaMelo? I think he was there when Ball had that 32 point triple double.

Re: 2020 Draft Discussion
I would consider trading back with the Knicks for 8 and the Knicks uprotected 2021 FRP. Why are people talking about the deal including Kevin Knox. 2 years in the league and he can't shoot straight from anywhere. 37% FG 33% 3s and under 70% from the line. He regressed big time from year one to year two. Can somebody help me out with why we should take him even if offered for free?

Re: 2020 Draft Discussion
I'm sure that Mitch would be happy to draft LaMelo. Given the rosters and where they are in terms of rebuilds, of the top 3 teams, Charlotte is probably the 'best' in terms of fit for LaMelo. He can play with Devante' long term and would have time to adjust to being in the NBA.
However, LaMelo also seems to have the most trade value and so I expect him to go first or second even if he isn't traded right away.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu

How would that backcourt fair on defence?
Seems like opposing teams would rip them apart.

I'm not a LaMelo guy so I'm not going to go all in on trying to answer that. I'll just say that in theory his size should allow him to guard bigger guys than Devante' can.

Re: 2020 Draft Discussion
The knicks should not give up next years pick. Next years draft is way better than this one. If the knicks wanna do that deal then no take backs
