I’d like the move, but are you alright starting the season with Salaun as the starting 4 assuming Grant needs more time for his leg to heal?

I mean he was a top 10 pick. We need to figure out if he's a piece of the future or not. I actually like the idea of Salaun starting. Let's see what we got with this kid.

I would be down for Bridges for Kuminga if possible.

Fischer is a legit reporter, this surprises me. I'm struggling to figure out a trade that works for the Warriors. They need a center almost as badly as we do. That said I don't think many teams would offer more than Bridges and a pick.

We just can’t trade away another front court player and take another guard.

I mean we just can’t, right?

I'm not adding a pick lol

Bridges is a win now piece for GSW. That should be enough to get a deal done for Kuminga.

Let me rephrase. I won’t rephrase. Another failed post. I regress.

I refuse to believe this crap. Hornets would be absolutely insane to deal a starting big, even Miles, to get Kuminga when we are desperately delinquent on big men. Tonight’s SL game should demonstrate how a fine second round rookie like Kalkbrenner is woefully ill prepared to face even good bench centers like Filipowski. Need a starting center, not another swing at yet ANOTHER undersized wing who isn’t a good shooter.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Kuminga is not who I had in mind for a trade to upgrade the frontcourt. I'm not sure he'll be willing to play team basketball. He wants to be featured and we shouldn't offer that to him.

But maybe Peterson is thinking that he'll have more value than Bridges for a future consolidation trade. I highly doubt the Warriors have any interest in the other players (that we'd be willing to trade) on our roster.

Bingo!

This is why you make this trade. Kuminga has more value than Miles. Kuminga + picks gets us in the conversation for an elite level player in the future.

Miles will never have great value due to his off court history. Kuminga offers you similar production without the off court drama.

If the team controlling a restricted free agent signs and trades him, that team can only take back an incoming player who earns half what Kuminga signs for. So if he signs for 25 million, Warriors can take back 12.5 max. A little more than 25 and we can ship out Josh Green. Maybe the Nets take Pat Connaughton for picks. But the Warriors would need picks for deadline moves. Miles is not going there. I think Kuminga is your 3/4 off the bench, and 4 alongside Liam at 3 when Grant is out or playing small ball 5.

Because of the issues involved with signing and trading RFAs I expect the Warriors will sign him to a contract and then look to trade him at the deadline. If Peterson is talking to Kuminga's representation I'd imagine he's laying the groundwork to complete that trade down the road.

We need to trade for Kum so we can complete our NSFW team naming scheme.

Kuminga is actually slightly larger than Miles, so he'd be our PF if we traded for him.

This hypothetical trade would basically be swapping undersized PF's, Miles to GS since he's a veteran and they want a title ASAP. And Kum to us as an upside bet. Or maybe we try to send Green out the door and Pat.

Would probably need a 3rd team (Nets or Utah) for salary purposes.

Probably accurate. Or maybe we are testing to see how far he will go down on price so we can negotiate matching pieces. We would need to create more cap somehow. Nets are our friend.

I could see why Lee would be interested in Kuminga. His upside is basically a bigger version of Jaylen Brown.

Charlotte gets:
Kuminga (sign and trade, 30m per year)

Utah gets:
Okogie, 2029 1st (the one we got for Mark)

GS gets:
Green, NSJ, Dallas 1st, Kevin Love.

To me, this is an obvious yes for Utah. They get a 1st round pick for free, basically.

For us, I don't know why we wouldn't do it. The players we trade are basically fillers, and neither of those draft picks is going to be great.

For GS, I'm not sure. Kuminga is the best player, but if Kerr doesn't like him they may take what they can get. Green and Love fit well in GS too, the pick could be used at the deadline for a decent bench depth player.

Yeah I'm not a big Kuminga fan but this we're trading our power forward for a guard narrative is pretty wild.

Kerr didn't like Kumingas decision making with the ball, said he rarely wanted to pass it, just wanted to score. That made me nervous, but that could be frustration with their offense

It's a solid deal. But I don't see how Utah is helping because we can waive Okogie without penalty.

Pat Connaughton is a different story.
