I crave post scoring and I think he would bring that.

Teaming a guy like Kanter with Tyrus might work well - and to be frank, with how limited this class is looking the pickings are pretty slim!

sounds like Kawhi is Crash 2.0. not a bad thing, but we need unselfish scoring and looks like Burks fits this need. I really like this kid.

I haven't read either one yet, but Kawhi is as close to Crash as I've seen, except he's more advanced in his offensive game at age 19 than Crash has ever been.

I've always said Crash with a real offensive game would be scary. Well Kawhi can be that. He's my favorite for the players in our range.

I went ahead and created the first poll. I guess we could close his one on Saturday and started another one on Sunday and keep one day for voting then.

If you take the guys who are most likely to be around at #9, my preference of order would be Jones, Burks and then Leonard. One of those 3 should be around. But my sincere hope is we somehow get Kanter. If he slips to #5 or #6, I would package #9 and #19 and try to move up and get him. But all indications are he will go #3. So we need to have some ping pong ball luck. But if we do, then Irving, Williams and Kanter are my order of preference.

I think Jones has a higher upside than Leonard, but I think he's going to have a harder time putting it all together. He also needs the ball to be effective on offense (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) and I want a guy who can do it all without needing the ball.

Burks is fine, but neither he nor Hendo has the size to play SF so I don't see the point in drafting what amounts to a backup SG.

Leonard, Jones, Hamilton.

Same with me. Jones and Lenoard are like a 1A and 1B for me with Hamilton runner up.

With the annual Bobcats Big Board starting up I'm going to take this one down.

Jordan Williams, the 6'10" PF/C from Maryland is in and is staying in.

Assuming we take a SF with our 1st pick I would totally look at this kid with teh 19th pick.

Definitely, I only say Leonard first because of the way our team is made up. Though I still think Williams is a reach at 19 and wont last til 39, I'd love to pick him up. Since he's not the most athletic guy, he needs to get (and keep) himself in top shape to compensate. He's really in that Sean May mold, but seems to have a bit more competitive drive, which is good.

Chad Ford has his first 2011 Mock Draft out today.

He says:

All year we have kept tabs on the stock of the Top 100 prospects. The list is a reflection of the consensus of NBA scouts and GMs about a player's relative value in the draft.

A mock draft is a different animal all together. In a mock draft, we don't tell you where a player should go but rather what each team in the draft likely would do with its pick.

At this point, very little is set in stone. Expect this mock draft to fluctuate greatly over the course of the next eight weeks.

We still don't know which underclassmen will withdraw from the draft on the May 8 deadline. And we aren't even sure of the draft order yet. We won't know the results of the NBA draft lottery until May 17.

The process of team workouts has just started. Over the next few weeks, the Chicago NBA pre-draft combine, the adidas Eurocamp and hundreds of team workouts will dramatically alter the face of the draft.

Still, we have a pretty good feel for who's going to be in and we do know the lottery odds, so it's time for our first full mock draft of 2011. (If you want to check out what your team would do with the No. 1 pick, check out our Lottery Mock Draft Machine with more than 2,000 scenarios.)

But for now, here's our best stab at a full first-round mock draft, after taking into account team needs.

At #9, he has us taking:

Charlotte
(1.7% chance of winning lottery)

Kawhi Leonard
Position: SF
Height: 6-7
Weight: 225
Age: 19
School: San Diego State

Analysis: The Bobcats are a mess. They have some talent. But they also have huge needs at every position on the floor. Leonard might be a bit of a reach this high, but his game reminds me a bit of a young Gerald Wallace.

He plays with a terrific combination of length, athleticism and motor. While he's not as accomplished a ball handler, he's a better rebounder and shooter than Wallace was at this age. The Bobcats certainly can use both his toughness and his versatility.

At #19 he has us taking:

Charlotte
(via New Orleans)

Reggie Jackson
Position: PG
Height: 6-3
Weight: 208
Age: 21
School: Boston College

Analysis: The Bobcats, as we noted, have needs just about everywhere. Jackson might be the biggest sleeper of the draft and should be a great fit in Charlotte. He is a terrific athlete, has a ridiculous 7-foot wingspan and shot the lights out this junior season. He has virtually every quality you look for in a modern NBA point guard.

The biggest question I have is whether he'll even be around at this point once he hits the Chicago combine and workouts. I think he could have a Paul George-type rise in this draft. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Bobcats ultimately considering him at No. 9.

Chad Ford plays with himself too much. He developed carpal tunnel syndrome in his right hand because it it. It would kill him to write anything good about the Bobcats.

He was telling the truth. Certainly wasn't as bad as Bill "contract the Bobcats" Simmons.

I think Jackson has all the tools, but I'm not sure if he has the mental aspect to be a leader. For all that talent, his team never did anything of note in the ACC. That usually turns me off on a player, especially when the ACC is so top heavy in recent years.

Watched that video of Faried on DX, he has incredible motor. His long hair always flying around, he is fun. I didn't know much about most of mid/late first round ncaa guys and guessed I should do my homework with Big Board approaching.

BTW Mirotić apparently sign cotnract till 2016 in Europe and allegedly don't really express interest in NBA. So no matter how far he would slip (could be even our second rounder) I would stay away from him.

Kawhi I initially like, have to watch others and him more to able to compare them better.

Kawhi reminds me a little of a more aggressive Ronnie Brewer.

Found it.

Kemba at #5 is stupid high, especially to Sacramento who already has Reke and Thornton.

Jimmer in Phoenix would be scary, but I really think he goes to Utah to join Hayward in the great white wing duo

Something I've said for awhile now but is looking way more likely is that using his mock and some of the others out there, I really think we could find a great wing/wing/big combo in this draft. They may not be superstar players, but they can be contributing pieces.

Leonard, Smith, Johnson
Jones, Jackson, Benson
Burks, Singleton, Williams
etc.

There are tons of possibilities
