I'm not that much of a fan of Jason Thompson. If you ever seen him in person or on TV, he look the part, he's tall, he's athletic, he's agile, he can shoot, but at the end of it all, he just lack substance. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade that bring him in, because I can vouch that he's a good guy since I've met & ran ball with him in the Danny Rumph Classic Basketball Tournament last year, but hopefully there's other options

well, i did a Ctrl-F of that PDF and searched for "MrKnowitall" "MrKIA" and "Yankee Oracle", but nothing matched.

I think he was an asset down the stretch and is obviously very young. I think it's very premature to put a cap on his potential so early in his career.

Nah, he's a two year college player from the prestigious Indiana program, with two brothers that have played NBA ball. He should be better than this already.

My eyeballs just don't see him being much better considering his shooting mechanics and personality. I'd basically trade him for anyone with a kinder contract since as a top 4 pick in a terrible draft he's very overpaid.

I can appreciate the limitations he's shown and if you think he can't improve on those, that's a fair opinion. He could definitely end up being overpaid at the end of his contract, so good point there. Some of those things you pointed to as evidence of his inability to develop or maxing out his potential seem pretty questionable to me though...

How is his personality limiting his development?

He should be more developed because his brothers sat the bench in the NBA? How does that make sense?

Can you name me one NBA big that Crean has produced (I honestly don't know the answer to this, but don't think there is one)?

Certainly the opportunity is there. I know some feel Thompson doesn't offer much, but let me.persuade you. He is sort of a "Jack of all trades, master of none" player. He has size, length, reasonably athletic, can turn in some big games on occasion. He can play the 4 but move to the 5 when needed. Mostly he is steady. We do not need (nor can we afford) a star today at PF. That will.someday be Noah. Jason would give us a steady vet to start now who can shoot, defend and rebound, while allowing time for Noah to develop. In his expiring third year he either remains to be part of the depth or we trade him.

There are few real.options to trade for at the 4. Thompson would be a solid starter and could spell Al some if Biz is ineffective.

That team is conterish to me behind the cavs if they added love.
The backcourt defense would be ridiculous.
No team in the east would be able to handle Bledsoe/lance in open court.
Vonleh fits with both Bledsoe and Stephenson game too.

I think that it's too much change. I really like Bledsoe, but Kemba has been a true leader on this team. With the Lance signing I think that the Hornets are going to have to be careful about changing Chemistry too much.

A more realistic trade from both a numbers perspective and chemistry would involve Hendo and Zeller and not Kemba. But that would probably open up issues regarding who starts. Overall I'm not sure that this team is a great trade partner for Bledsoe.

Thad Young

We use MCW as our second unit PG and let Roberts run off ball for his shooting. Also can slide Lance around and have Kemba, Williams, Lance and MKG in a small ball running lineup. Gives lots of flexibility and with our best supporting cast MCW doesn't have to shoot as much. I also think he won't have to force offense so much so his turnovers should drop some as well.

He averaged almost 2 steals per game and over half a block. The real question for me would be how he defends SGs. If this trade were to go down it would be to have a big PG to play some next to Kemba and a lot as a backup SG next to Roberts. I wanted a playmaker in the second unit and the spot I had to put one was SG. I really like his flexibility size wise with match ups.

Yes, MCW would fair a lot better as a defender against shooting guards, and backup point guards. MCW would probably make for a solid reserve point guard but any team that's planning on making him a starter just because he had a superficially good season considering raw numbers only will be in for a rude awakening

Compare MCW's rookie season to that of Darren Collison's rookie season, and you'll see where his career is actually headed without the overblown proportions
