Looking through list of nominated athletes for Vancouver I'm wondering how big are Winter Olympics in USA? I just know our coubntries tend to do well in different winter sports so I have pretty much a no idea.

Summer Olympics are HUGE in Australia. Even the Commonwealth Games are popular.

Winter Olympics? Not so much.

i dig the winter olympics, but im probably in the minority.

only figure skating gets a lot of press here in the states, probably cause thats historically all we are good at in the winter olympics (well that and speed skating).

Might have more to do with the bat to the knee Nancy Kerrigan took back in '04?

I guess downhill sports and anything snowboard related you should be good at too, shouldn't you? (well at least you have Bode Miller from top of my head) And hockey a bit

Speed skating? I guess both long track and short track. That is actually one of those sports that we from the middle of Europe are oddly good at because a one unique individual (or a small group in this case) despite no good reason (there is no speedskating hall in the country, they just train on frozen ponds, off ice or in foreign countries; similar to us having an olypic medal from yachting :D ).

Doubt that. You usually hardly have any ski-jumpers or at least not enough to enter team competition.

In ČR ski-jumping has a long tradiiton but currently we suck and have been sucking for about 10 years already with exception to one season wonders. Results aside I have respect for anyone who has the balls to do such a thing - even walking the stairs there is an uncomfortable feeling.

Chad Fraud again:

The Bobcats are one the hottest teams in the NBA right now, having won nine of 10 in January, and look primed to make their first playoff appearance in franchise history.
But according to ESPN's Chad Ford right now, they're not content to keep riding out the season with their current roster, and may be looking to add a veteran presence in exchange for second-year point guard D.J. Augustin.
So might the Knicks be a fit? Augustin has been a bit of a disappointment in his second season, but Mike D'Antoni is still craving a point guard to run his system.
In exchange, the Knicks could send back veteran Jared Jeffries, a contract they are currently trying to get off their hands.

The Bobcats would need to send something else in exchange, perhaps Acie Law's expiring deal along with Gerald Henderson's small contract, though that would leave the Bobcats thin at the point guard position. The Knicks aren't looking to take on anymore salary, but with Law's expiring deal, they'd at least be shedding some.

Not ideal for either side, but something that could potentially work.

I have to throw my love of the Winter Olympics in there as well. My DVR is going to be in Overdrive soon enough when they start up adding on to my all my regular shows and league pass games. In fact I have another DVR that I deactivated because I didn't use it as often anymore. I might need to hook that thing back up.

ok ok .. he's not at halfcourt. haha.

but he is trying to do a hook over greg oden. i cant think of any worse combination of players to have hanging in my cube. you all know how i feel about okafor, oden and ohio state. feb cant come fast enough.

i should draw a purse on okafor's shoulder. maybe put a tiara on his head.

to be fair, if i had a chandler pic, i would draw him a vagina.

Are we going to address Oden's junk or just let that one slide on by?
