What NBA players do you hang out with?

All you need to do is look at the faces of the players on teams he annihilates. That tells me everything I need to know.

So how do you feel about ESPN calling him possibly the best steal of this past free agent class. Bobcats were stupid huh?

Millsap has also been called possibly the best steal of free agency. You know, the All-Star making less than $10 million and keeping Atlanta relevant without Horford.

If Big Al was viewed by the league's greats as you suggest, he would have been an All-Star by now, he would have been to the playoffs more than twice (only once as a starter), and he would have at least one playoff win as a starter.
Humble yourself.

Big deal. Big Al is making Anthony Tolliver millions. He is like the God Father.

During interviews with Stephanie Ready he constantly talks about both ends of the floor. Big Al is not athletic. That doesn't make him lazy. He's highly skilled and a hard worker and the Bobcats (Hornets) needed a ticket draw.

If he finishes top 5 in MVP, it's more likely a free agent wants to join him here with Kemba.

Nobody's looking to partner up with Millsap.

I'm sorry but his half-assed rotations say otherwise. Simply swiping at the ball and hoping to knock it out the opponent's hands is the ultimate lazy defender move.

And don't give me any of that "he's not athletic" ****. Roy Hibbert used to be gassed after 6 minutes of basketball. Marc Gasol is even more chubby than Al. Both have become excellent defenders.

We have a top 4 defense so you can select certain plays when he's gassed and paint a portrait with them but in the end, the bottom line shows he can't possibly be that costly of a liability. Top 4 is elite and he's out there quite a bit. Other teams don't have centers with game on offense, so defense is not as demanding at the position.

Haha. "certain plays when he's gassed". Al Jefferson is a bad defensive player. Period.

We've obviously managed to play good defense with him on the court but that doesn't change the fact that Al's bad on the end of the court.

I think if you did a You Can Call Me Al highlight video for Big Al you might get plugged on TV. I would tweet or email it to Curry and Martin and Bonnell.

Yes, I still hate Al Jefferson and want him far, far away from this team. You'll figure out why when we get swept as an 8th seed and come stumbling out the gate as the Hornets next year only to have MJ clean house by firing Cho and blowing up the roster again.

I'm loving the production of Big Al.

That said, he's perfect trade bait in the offseason.

Building a team around Al is a terrible idea.

Oh stop with the doomsday proselytizing. The East is horrible and as soon as we fix our wing(s) situation Kemba and Big Al will be even tougher to deal with. Al is a 20-10 guy on a team with no perimeter shooting nor spacing and Kemba will be a 20-5 point with more options. The Nets are old. The Bulls can't bank on Rose anymore. The rest are mediocre or suck outside Pacers and Heat. The front office picked a perfect time to accelerate the rebuild and you keep ignoring the fact we still have a potentially top 10 Pistons pick. We're still adding quality young players while Biz, Zeller and MKG develop. I keep hearing about how all these teams in the East are going to be so much better in a "normal" season but they keep looking a mess. The Raptors were accused of tanking for hometown boy Wiggins. Look at them now. Mediocre. These teams are trying. They're just not that good. The Wiz traded their first rounder. .500 team with Beal and Wall. The Cavs traded picks for Deng. He'll leave. Bennett is busting. They want to kill each other in the locker room. The Celtics best player is coming off a torn ACL and Sullinger is on the CC Sabathia yo-yo diet. The Sixers are unloading Turner and Hawes and Young following Holiday - totally gutted. The Magic are pathetic. The Bucks? The Hawks have been on the outside looking in on the elite teams for a decade. The Knicks are hilarious.

I think it's time to stop fantasizing of this so called normal season coming next year. We are adding win-now talent, developing young players and keeping our top assets.

They made a couple bad picks. It happens.

You and I think alike. First stud big man in franchise history and we're talking about trading him off like he's not worth part of our core. That said, Al shouldn't be the only option we have when we're ready to make a playoff run that matters. I'm hoping Kemba improves as a scorer and we add a legit 20ppg scorer on the wings, while keeping our two projected elite defensive players. I'd love to see Al stick around. I think he's turned a corner after our defensive culture has been able to mask his greatest flaw. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end the season as a 22/11 big man. When you have a guy who can do that and still be a top 7 defense in the NBA, you're in damn good shape moving forward.

It's like to some people on here, if our star player's name doesn't end in -iggins, -ames, -urant or -arker, then we'd better tank again just to increase our chances! It makes me feel a bit embarrassed to come on here and read some of the drivel that is posted, but it's the Internet. What can you expect?

If Big Al was in another team with more "hype" he'd have been selected for the all-star game.

As a Bobcats fan for many years, that's my first season when I get recognition for the good results of my team and Big Al is a big part of that. Without him we would be far to make the playoffs. He started his season slow, but he's just killing 9 nights out of 10 at the moment.
And he's a veteran who already have been to the playoffs... Which is not very common in our roster... Such as Brandan Haywood, his presence in the locker room must be positive for our young players.

See how well it's worked for us? Our current best players were picked 9th (Kemba) and 15th (Jefferson) in their respective drafts. MKG was a 2nd pick and then Henderson was a 12th pick, and there is no shame having him as a 4th or 5th best player at all. We are absolutely another piece away from being a really good team, likely another Kemba/Jefferson-caliber player, but the way some people post here,, you'd think we'd just traded Tobias Harris for JJ Redick and a pair of 2nd rounders in an attempt at the 8th seed.

If they lose, it will be because the team isn't very good yet. Jefferson is a good win-now building block for the next 3-4 years. If they can use their cap space in the offseason to improve the offense, they'll get better. They need a capable scoring threat at the SG or SF position.

Look man, you dropped my name and voila, I read it and responded. I have an opinion and I'm sticking to it. If you don't want to hear it, then STFU about my opinion. I don't tell you to STFU about trading MKG for garbage b/c that's your (Please Use More Appropriate Word) opinion and I respect it.

You two can diss me by name, it's okay, I'm a big boy. I'm used to being the only realist on this board by now. I remember when Hornet's fans thought Elden Campbell was an All-Star and worth building around too.

How are they going to improve these holes at SG or SF with Al's awful contract taking up space and the giving away of our picks like candy? Bribe some overrated FAs to come here? The new CBA is pretty important, I don't think MJ is going deep into the luxury tax Prokorov style which is what it will take to make this team good b/c we won't have any worthwhile draft picks.

In conclusion, all of you all need to respectfully STFU and quit acting like catty school girls b/c whining about perceived whining does not make for good forum reading. You can have your circle jerk about Al to your little hearts' desire without bringing up people you disagree with. I'll just be respectfully ignoring it over here in my Al Jefferson Fan Club like I was before.

his defense is a big reason why Steve Clifford has the Bobcats up to fourth in team defense.

I'm glad Al is getting some praise ... but Sheridan obviously isn't watching the games if he thinks Albus is even an average defensive player.
