I found myself rooting for him tonight even though he dissed us many moons ago. What an unbelievable feat at the age of 37. He absolutely left everything he had left in him on that floor.

I hate Kobe but that was cool. One of those things you'll never forget.

Mad props. I hate him, but he is a perfect example of determination, work ethic, and swag. This guy just don't give a ****.

Except:

Knicks: Patrick Ewing should get real consideration.

Really interesting where Luke, Thibs and Jackson end up.

I still can't comprehend what the hell I watched. Felt like some sap for not being able to resist Kobe's last game. Yet, in the end, I couldn't have forgiven myself if I missed such a game.

If anyone is in the mood for some Kobe retrospection, I tried putting together the feel and the theory I have on him as a player:
https://lamarmatic.com/2016/04/14/my-kobe-bryant-defining-theory-the-one-question-and-answer/

Nothing long. 500-600ish words. If anything, it was good practice for my creative writing.

If Kobe took less than 50 shots in his last game with that awful roster, it would have been a travesty. Pretty cool. Never thought I'd be sad to see him go.

for example, based on nba.com/espn data... Boston's offense ranked 13th, not top ten...

I respect the guy a lot, and always admired his competitiveness and attributes. Never liked him for not wanting to be a Hornet. but having someone just go out and pig out on shots to reach 60 points is a cartoon. That stat and game needs an asterisk because it was an exhibition. No skin off my nose, so no sleep lost. Still, I got tired of the Kobe tour anyway, and this just put the overkill topping onto it.

Bye Kobe. You stayed too long, but oh well, it was always about you, wasn't it?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

His last year was a circus. He was close to being the worst player on his team (except for Sacre of course) but he got to chuck all season and stifle the chemistry and growth of the Lakers' young core. Even Kevin Garnett, one of the most egotistical players in a while, was modest enough to take a backseat and mentor the young players.

I'm not thrilled about the future of the NBA but at least Kobe is out of it. The only thing sort of positive I can say about Kobe is he was talented enough in his prime to win in spite of playing the wrong way.
