Charlotte Hornets rookie Brandon Miller has been named as a defendant in a wrongful death suit filed by the mother of a woman who was killed in Alabama earlier this year. The federal lawsuit, which also names ex-Alabama men’s basketball player Darius Miles and Miles’ friend Michael Davis as defendants, was filed on Friday on behalf of DeCarla Heard, the mother of Jamea Harris. According to Al.com, the suit alleges Miller, along with Miles and Davis, are guilty of negligence and their actions “allowed, permitted or contributed to cause (Jamea Harris) to be in a dangerous situation that would foreseeably cause her harm.”

This is a nothing burger, we live in a litigious society. Literally, anyone can sue anybody for anything. The only reason to care is it comes on the heels of Miles and his BS.

They signed up for this when they drafted Miller over Scoot. Hopefully it ends up being worth it. There’s a lot to like about Miller and we have to consider a long term stretch of seasons rather than what would’ve helped more this season drafting that high. But it sure would’ve solved a few major problems by having Scoot as the backup PG this season.

But I will say (and this is likely going to require patience which we’ve all run out of) Miller having such a high basketball IQ is what this team needed badly. There is a lot he does better than most veterans already. I mean just compare his decision making in this small sample size to Kelly Oubre for example.

The potential hubris from Scoot over made me anxious whenever I saw it. I don’t have a better suggestion but let’s go Brandon always makes me laugh in how stupid it is and we can do better than miller time.

Guns blazing? Shooter? Wheelman? Seems like the modern jailblazer culture should embrace the criminal allegations some way or another. Where is UNCNYC isn’t this his forte?
