I could see Charlotte letting Byron Mullens & his $3 million qualifying offer walk. There's no need to pay anymore dead weight past Tyrus Thomas & to some degree Ben Gordon, unless they still have hope in Mullens, in which I doubt, but we don't know just yet

Would prefer to upgrade the 6'7" PF slot to DeJuan Blair. Why would he leave the Spurs? Playing time.

I know it might sound crazy, but 6'7" or maybe even shorter, both Jeff Adrien & DeJuan Blair play bigger than a 7-foot Byron Mullens, whether we're discussing rebounding or blocking percentages. I'm not saying that Charlotte should retain Adrien as well as try to sign Blair in free-agency because I believe that the Bobcats do need to add some legit size & length, but it's a better option than extending Mullens

Adrien isn't no slouch. If you look at his production since his freshman year at UConn you would see that he's always been consistent with minutes. He's just a unheralded diamond in the rough that's finally getting his chance. He must have a bad agent or bad luck besides being undersized because he's like a better version of Reggie Evans who has stuck around the league for years. I'm not saying that we need to treat him like a star or anything but we got a under the radar bargain when we signed him.

Why isn't the name of this thread "Rocky IV" or something instead of "Gonna Fly Now"?

Did we already have "Yo Adrian!" as the title of the thread?

"Gonna Fly Now" is the name of the Rocky theme song. i thought it was an appropriate title, considering he came from d-league to now playing minutes in the NBA. plus its an awesome song, although i prefer the maynard ferguson version.

the original version

the maynard ferguson version (much better in my opinion)

I like "Rocky 4" or "Rocky IV" since he's always played the #4 almost everywhere he's been, especially if someone could photoshop his face into the following pic:

according to winscore, adrien has been the best player on the bobcats by far http://www.boxscoregeeks.com/teams/cha AND the best per minute player in the NBA by a decent margin (with a minimum of 130 minutes played) - http://www.boxscoregeeks.com/players?di ... s_produced

also interesting that by this metric Biyombo has been our 2nd best player

Good post. I think it need to be recognized that Jeff Adrien, the "undersized midget center", is actually playing well, and not just taking away Bismack Biyombo's minutes for no particular reason.

Also, that Bobcats 'Wins Produced' stat doesn't do Jeff Taylor any favors http://www.boxscoregeeks.com/teams/cha

He hasn't done nothing Biz can't do against Boston... I would even say, Biz would have probably be more productive on the defensive end...

David West's trash talk against us. West yells at Hibbert to post up the too little Jeff Adrien.

Good! Now use him. He can defend alongside Al since Cliff won't try Biz there.

he was seemingly very close to kemba and MKG. hopefully that doesnt impact chemistry too much.
