rookie MJ was a possible pick. he was already awesome as a rookie, you keep your All-NBA category and you keep anyone from getting such a glorified GOAT (even though it didn't help me when I had him yet lost two years ago).

I think i'm going to save my all-nba pick if I can

How are positions determined? Can we pick whatever we want?

For instance for Bird, if we pick a year that BR designates him as a SF can we still play him at PF?

oh yeah, don't worry about that (at least from what I remember about past versions of the draft).

you can put three wings in your starting lineup and say that Bird will be your point forward, if you want to do so.

Potentially different mindsets make this a lot more interesting and difficult than just a fantasy draft since those are determined by a standard rate of imperical data.

Yeah, that's frustrating part. Winner is picked by voting and big familiar names probably sway voters. Its important for people to explain their picks, logic, tactic and even point out the hidden disasters in other peoples lineups. Every bit helps.

For the 3rd consecutive draft in a row I'm using my first pick to draft the great Larry Bird.

I'm using the Hoosier category for the Indiana native and select the 84-85 Bird which is the season before he hurt his back shoveling rock in his mum's driveway.

Where he averaged a lazy 28.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game, 1.6 steals, 1.2 blocks.

A part of me felt like drafting someone else just to mix it up, but I'm always drawn to the versatility of Bird and I just love great shooters.

I just like him more than Magic and Kareem. Something about them just annoys me.

Stone Hands - Magic Johnson - 1985-86

Going with my original plan (before I changed my mind today to Bird, due to the depth of Stone Hands and lack of depth of Hoosiers). Magic in 1985-86 is not his greatest statistical year, but he did not need to put up the monster scoring numbers that year with both Kareem still playing at top form and a young emerging James Worthy pitching in on offense. But, Magic in 1984-85 was in peak physical condition at only 25 years old. In 85-86 he averaged 18.8ppg, 5.9rpg and 12.6apg, while leading the Showtime Lakers, the greatest fast break offense the NBA has ever seen.

But, here's the switch for Team Fat, I plan to use Magic as a small ball power forward, the superstar version of Draymond Green in order to take Magic's unique skills and put them into a Lineup of Death that can compete with all the modern superteams.

Plus, I need redemption for the last Scavenger draft where my team led by Magic was robbed of a victory.

that was a really tough decision. I hated burning a pick from Stone Hands so early. That category is stacked. But, it was either that or burning All-NBA in the 1st round. That's what made Bird such a great pick since you could get him with Hoosier.

Yup. Bird was possibly my top option but I figured he would go given how shallow that category is. I'm going to try to get somebody out of a shallow category but if it isn't there i'm ripping on a huge 1st team All-nba.

If the 10th spot is open I'd like to take part. My knowledge of pre 2000 basketball is lacking but what the hell it's seem like a weird fun thing to try out.

lol there is no chance I own this. I have done about zero research. I'm not going for a superstar team though i'll tell you that. I want my team to be able to make it rain on the court on Wednesday night and make it rain in the club on Thursday night. Team chemistry is my number 1 priority.

Sounds good. I'll add you to the list for the 10th pick. Let me know if you have any questions.
