Miles is back soon, so I assume that means Miller will go to the bench. When Rozier is back, it'll get interesting. Will he start or will PJ or Miles be benched?

Miles will initially come off the bench but eventually start within 4 or 5 games over PJ. Rozier will start as well. Miller and PJ coming off the bench makes us significantly better and both will get 27 plus minutes.

That's what I think will happen anyway.

Earlier, I was thinking it was a good possibility PJ was locked in as a starter regardless of Miles coming back. But with how bad PJ has been this last week+, give me Miles in the starting lineup all day long. I think the way to win here will be to move Hayward or Terry to the second unit and start Miller.

LaMelo
Miller
Hayward
Miles
Mark

Now all of the sudden our second unit includes Terry and PJ instead of Bryce and Thor. It would be a big difference. But Cliff is gonna Cliff and likely **** it all up. The one ray of hope I have is when he was willing to move Al to the bench back in 15/16 and start Zeller, we went on that big run to end the season. But he won't figure something like that out until at least Feb when it might be too late.

Not to beat a dead horse, but it's truly remarkable that we can be last in the league in 3PT% and 3PTA and still be fielding a top 10 offense that is posting a higher offensive efficiency than offense heavy contenders in GSW and MIL. We are actually tied with OKC for 8th in offensive efficiency.

This is with Melo starting very slow, Terry out half our games, and Miles and Martin still out.

Our defense sucks worse than I've ever seen in the history of this franchise, but I believe that Cliff can coach up a better defense and I'm skeptical that we'll close the season bottom 10.

It has 100% been a rough go of it to start the season, but there is some promising greenshoots.

We are 19th in True shooting %. Luckily we are #1 in Off Reb %, but I think that is inflated from our games vs Wizards.

Truth is I think we are probably closer to the 15-20th best offense with the worst defense.
We have benefitted from playing an easy schedule and also we give up so many points I think our orating is influenced by that to some degree.

Maybe true. Worth noting that our ORTG in our two games against WAS is actually lower than our season average.

I am saying our ORB% was skewed because of those games.
We are at 34% for all games.

In our two games vs Washington our offensive rebounding % was 49.1% and 28%

49% was a huge anomaly. We have several games around 20% this year and then a few in the 30% range, but that was nearly 20% higher than any other game.

Sure, but still think top 8 in ORTG is notable for the reasons I explained, and like I said it's not like we got a huge ORTG bump from playing WAS.

We're getting a lot of offensive rebounds because we're missing so many shots. Also, LaMelo Mark and Nick have all been very good at grabbing their own misses and converting.

I do think IT would've been better than Ish and Theo as backup PG. I also think he'd be better than Frank. But really, all 4 of those options are crap compared to someone we could just make a small trade for. I'd even take Devonte back over those 4 regardless of his limitations. But we do need a wing defender since Cody is unreliable.

If you're of the belief that a healthy Bouk would have been ahead of both Nick Smith Jr and Bryce and Theo... You could argue that we're down to our sixth string shooting guard if Miller doesn't play tonight. That's almost comical.

I actually think they do have Bouk ahead of those guys. Well maybe not Bryce, they LOVE Bryce for some unexplainable reason.

I have Bouk a deep 6th on the depth chart at SG. He's utter trash.

He is, but due to these injuries if he comes back first then he'll get yet another chance. Considering his career trajectory is so similar to Malik Monk, maybe he turns it around this season just in time to go somewhere else this summer.
