its fun at times, but overall frustrating.

Preach. That's been very clear for the first 15 games of this year. Probably a number one takeaway from this sample size.

Their lack of a 40-point night is both meaningless and also triggering my OCD at this point.

This team is so stressful, no lead is safe. Glad they won at least if they are going to have me pacing around stressing.

I was fast forwarding to the end of possessions in the last 4 minutes of Q4, was real tough to watch

More turnovers than Charles Barkley's breakfast table.

So many chances to give the FTs to miller at the end as well.

There's no doubt in my mind we would have won that game in regulation had coached Lee not been so stubborn in inserted Diabate in the lineup for it either Green or Cody.
Happy we won but it was frustrating. Defense was fantastic. Once again it's just circus shots. We're not hitting these absolutely ridiculous low percentage shots then our offense is just brutal to watch. I really hope that changes soon.

Onto the good stuff, it's really great to see Brandon Miller getting back to the player we saw last year. Two great games in a rattle. Can't say enough great things about the diabate. It is just a warrior on the glass. Completely outplayed duren. I don't think there's any planet where someone can watch both Cade Cunningham and Lamelo and come away with the conclusion that cade is the better player. That doesn't absolve LaMelo for some of his idiotic fouls once again. And some frustrating hero ball at the end. I mean he did the exact same thing in the first quarter that he did to get him benched in the last game get frustrated and immediately foul when he was already in foul trouble.

Fantastic stuff by Cody on the defensive end today.

I think the next strategy to try to get through to Melo is to just stop changing your rotations at all on his fouls. Play him on like it’s nothing and don’t even tell him to change his defense or how many fouls he has. Maybe if he fouls out a few games in a row the message will sink in

I don't think it's all that fair to complain about the offense and complain about Diabetes not playing enough in the same statement.

He is an absolute nothing burger on offense. Less of a threat than even Bismack. His offense is like La Croix. "Hint of hint of scoring threat". Strangest thing about him is that he has great hands going for rebounds but for some reason looks like he's wearing drunk goggles when you just pass it to him. He's not even really a lob threat.

Throw Tiddy or Green (when he's not hitting shots) in there and there's no way to generate easy looks.

Indeed, it absolutely amazes me. When you compare today’s NBA to previous older generations, some things stand out. More players can hit from distance than ever. Back then a good team had a handful of capable long range shooters. Now it seems most of any team’s players have range. And some like Melo have crazy range.

I miss the inside play from bigs in the modern game, but the athleticism of today’s players is superior.

Glad the Hornets held on to win this one.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

its dumb now and its gonna be more dumb when there are a bunch of 15 3pa+ players in a couple years

im not a buyer of moving the line further back and making post entry passes and kickouts a nightmare and reducing the 3 to pullups and stepbacks, my dream is that they cap 3pm at something like 10 or 12, unlimited attempts. once you hit the cap you're stuck until 2 min left in the game/OT where its unlimited again. would make 3 pointers more strategical, if you're on fire maybe you want to use them all in the first half to build a huge lead, but then you're stuck if you use them all and are faced with a packed paint or trying to maintain your outside shooting and spacing, at less efficient 2pt/attempt. This would allow other archetypes a chance to have a decent role again. and once you have teams filling rosters with different archetype players now that they are viable again, the problem fixes itself a bit naturally as you have those guys getting minutes

this would at least sort of restore the 3pter to the "dagger in the heart" shot that it was intended to be and not the main course of every teams shot diet

Just anecdotally this feels like one of the most watchable teams we’ve had in a long time, and I’d go as far as to say the NBA as a whole. I guess we need our 100 Steph/Bron national TV games which is fine, but it’s a shame they don’t want to give us a bit more national spotlight. This team could really win over some casual fans, Tre, Brandon, and obviously LaMelo are perfect for the TikTok Gen.

I dare say LaMelo if marketed correctly could be one of the three most popular players in the NBA one day. His playstyle is absolutely electric and showman-like and he makes 5 utterly ridiculous shots per week.

If Cade was the best player on my team, and I'd have to watch him every night in a carry role he's not suited for, at this point in my life, I'd just nope out. There is nothing about his game that is fun to watch. I feel fortunate for the first time in forever, we got two guys I think are and can be better than him. Just gotta get through the bumps and bruises of learning to win.

Brandon getting back to searching for his mid range and driving lanes these last two games has been a marked improvement.

Diabate made Duren look super stiff and upright. Duren never put forth the energy to move out of his range or go towards the ball when it was low or on the ground and his defensive awareness is putrid.

Duren reminds me so much of Trez on defense, and that’s not a compliment.
