bobcats3wallace wrote:As far as Williams goes. I have heard many people who have seen him in person say that he is MAYBE 6'8". He is a guy who will probably be too small to be successful as an NBA C. Think of a Diaw type sized C. Maybe even a little smaller. I have never seen him in person, so i'll be interested to see how he actually measures out in workouts. IF he can measure well, and perform well in workouts, he could be an excellent choice at 19. I just REALLY question his ability to be effective as a C in the NBA, and I don't see him being effective at all as a PF.

Totally agree - his combine measurements will be telling. I mean, it would be fantastic if he really is 6'10", but if not, I could still see him being a great back up PF for us who plays close to the basket on offense and cleans the boards at both ends.

I like DJW, but we already have a lot of mid range scorers (Liv, Hendo, Dante, Tyrus). I'd swap out DJW for Williams - because Williams would bring us something different that we don't currently have.

You know who else was picked 19th overall in his drat class and is considered a pudgy, undersized PF who is OWNING the playoffs this year???

I'm guessing that's "in no specific order"?

Wrong. That was in order of #1 - #30. That is what was surprising.

refreshing to see someone add some names to the conversation. Charles Jenkins ahead of Walker, Burks, Hamilton is a great example. how can Gottlieb do that?

Draft Express offers some clues:
Jenkins ranks as the second most efficient isolation threat in the NCAA, scoring on over 50% of his attempts when going one on one. He also ranks in the top-10 in pick and roll situations and in the top-25 as a catch and shoot threat.

NCAA prospects classified as point guards in the DraftExpress database, Jenkins trails only Kyrie Irving in both True Shooting Percentage, and Effective Field Goal Percentage.

where Jenkins truly sets himself apart from the other elite scorers at the Division 1 level – the sheer volume of shots. While players like Fredette, Walker, are attempting in the realm of 18 to 19 shots per game, the Hofstra senior has managed his eye popping scoring numbers on just 14.5 attempts

Doug played for OK State and Notre Dame. He has been with ESPN for years and is one of the ones who really knows his stuff. When it comes to college BB, at ESPN I trust Gottlieb and Jay Bilas. He is just stating who he thinks has the goods to raise their game to an NBA level.

Reading all that good stuff on Jenkins makes me think he'd be a great pick up at #19 if we can get a Big with #9.

Coming away impressed after checking him out a little over two months ago in Lexington, SLAM and CityLeagueHoopsTv were invited to come in and check out Enes before anyone else. We walked out of the gym in Chicago pondering whether or not Enes could ultimately wind up as the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft

Well, unless we get lucky with the ping pong balls, I dont see us getting my man Kanter. No way he falls to #9.

ESPNs Fran Fraschilla also likes Charles Jenkins but doesn't like Reggie Jackson:

"I love Jenkins and think he will be a steal at the back of the first round. In addition to scoring more than 2,500 points in his career, many from the 3-point line, Jenkins is an outstanding passer. He has great point guard vision and a very good feel for screen-and-roll concepts."

"I am not a fan of (Jackson's) potential. First of all, he is an average athlete who plays with a low motor. He is an exclusively left-handed driver who has trouble scoring over length at the rim. And he is sloppy with the ball and turnover prone. Jackson shoots well from deep, but don't think that's enough for me."

More stuff from Ford...

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Burks looked good in drills. Shooting the ball better. Explosive athlete. Kawhi Leonard still shooting lights out in Day 2
chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Prediction: Malcolm Lee follows in the footsteps of Westbrook, Holiday, Collison & performs better in the NBA than he did at UCLA
chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Josh Selby looking terrific again today. Really can create space off dribble. Have a feeling he's a big riser on draft boards over nxt month

Ford today..

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Watching Enes Kanter, Chris Singleton, JaJuan Johnson, Marshon Brooks, Durrell Summers at @ATTACKATHLETICS

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Kanter looked great. Tough. Great shooter. Skilled. Showed some leaping ability. In great shape. Feeling good about our Top 3 projection.

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Singleton was good. Great size. Great athlete. Quick. Leaper. Still needs work on the offensive end.

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Marshon Brooks a big wow for me. Crazy 7-2 wingspan. Explosive. Shooting well. Was very, very good in drills.

He better!

I've been singing his praises for years now and have yet to be rewarded for it. It'd make me damn happy to see him do something nice in the league

According to Jordan Williams, since he arrived at the gym in late March, roughly six weeks ago, he has pared his body fat from 13.8 percent to 8.9 percent. (Check out a recent photo of Williams here.)

“I’ve changed my body type; I look like a completely different person,” Jordan Williams said. “And skill-wise, my jump shot is more pure than it was before. I have a lot more confidence in it. I’m still working on my back-to-the-basket game, but now I’m more of a threat because I can shoot the 15-foot jump shot and not think about it.”

This may sound crazy, but there's a little Kobe to Marshon Brooks' game. He's absolutely killing it in 3-on-3 rt now He's waaaay underrated

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Chris Singleton just awesome in 3-on-3. I could see both Charlotte and Utah taking a long look in the lottery

I like this guy. I wasn't thinking lottery though.

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Very good Long, athletic, shhoting it well might be a 3 at nxt level RT @thankyoudonnie: how'd JaJaun Johnson look?

Darn you Chad Ford! I was looking at Singleton at #19. Quit trying to bring him into #9 territory!

If Singleton's offensive game is looking great we need to snatch him up. He was already considered one of the nation's elite defenders.
