I'm more concerned about him being a Hornet for a good while now and just now visiting the arena 2 weeks before training camp to workout.

Or maybe I'm just spoiled by MKG and Zeller along with Walker basically living at the arena in the off season

I think it's absolutely ridiculous for anyone to ridicule or hate on the security guard for doing her job.

Well we have more than 15 guys under contract (I'll let you look that one up), and who says the TWCA security guard cares about basketball? The arena is used for a lot more than basketball games, knowledge of the team shouldn't be a requirement. I'm sure the guard used the same policy she'd use for any other person who walked up to the gate.

There may be only 15 players, but the security guard works in an environment with thousands of employees, visitors, vendors, general contractors, maintenance crew etc....assuming a security guard would need to have interest in basketball as a prerequisite to employment is pretty funny.

I'd assume players should have their own entrance, especially they have their training facility there, hard to think they share the same entrance with all other events.

If a guard is doing their job, simply check ID will do the work, Lin don't need to try to "convince" her, and she don't need to ask "what team". Come on, that's exactly what I'm trying to say, Lin has been to different teams and has been in the league for 5 years, he knows what is a guard simply doing their job, what is a guard not doing their job. There is something called common sense.

If I go to my company the first time, I'd anticipate I show my ID and tell them I'm a new employee, the security should take my word and go back and check their system to confirm. I'd be annoyed if I need to convince them I'm not lying first. The guard is just not professional, no matter how you slice it. I don't need to be a NBA star to demand that kind of respect.

do we even know if the security guards are exclusive to Time Warner Arena? It's possible they work in various capacities at various venues.

Hopefully the guard making an hourly wage isn't fired because a famous rich millionaire thought it would be funny to trivialize someone's job with a snarky comment.

Lin said it was LOL and he has never complained about it. Why would someone see it as a race issue or the guard's mistake? Maybe the security guard was doing exactly what she was supposed to do to protect Lin and anyone else who is supposed to be in there. EOS.

The security guard didn't know who Lin was, she probably should have since it's her job to know those things, but she didn't and it's not the end of the world. Let's not pretend that we don't make mistakes at work.

Then Lin tweeted about it because the same thing had happened to him in NY and he probably found it amusing. Not a big deal, because real life isn't anything like daytime soaps and the management wouldn't fire the security guard for such a minor mistake for an issue made public by their own player, unless they want a PR nightmare and turn Lin into the most hated Hornet ever, even before playing a single minute in their uniform.

Do people really think this incident is discussion worthy?
