UCLA and Stanford ought to be a decent game. I really like the Dwight Powell guy for Stanford. Fairly athletic PF with a sweet jump shot, schooled McAdoo earlier this year.

Shabazz Muhammad is looking like my #1 pick today.

Im happy with him or McLemore.

Seth Curry is going to be a solid bench player in the NBA.

Lens size and length is dominating Plumlee tonight.

Rick Bonnell @rick_bonnell
Duke might be in real trouble here. And it's real easy to see Maryland center as a Bobcat next season.
Alex Len as a Bobcat? Do not want.

I wouldn't mind him if he showed any kinds of consistency. He dominated Noel earlier this season and has embarrassed Plumlee tonight. In between hes been eh.

I think he can be like Luther Head or Boobie Gibson. But his inability to play the point is going to be a major problem.
Humble yourself.

P.J. Hairston has to be one of the most improved players in the country. 29 points against UVA today. He may not ready yet, but I do think he's the best pro prospect on this UNC team.
Humble yourself.

Re: 2013 NBA draft prospects chatter
Chad Ford's latest on Ben McLemore:
And how about his blocking ability and his defense?
McLemore continues to show his upside as a jump-shooter and elite athlete (case in point: his 30-point performance against Kansas State on Monday). When he's locked in and aggressive, he looks like he could be an NBA All-Star. But he also has given scouts reason to be concerned. At times he struggles to assert himself because of a lack of confidence in his ballhandling abilities. At this point, McLemore is the No. 1 player on our Big Board more by default than he is by virtue of having locked down the top spot. However, with the Charlotte Bobcats having the best odds of winning the draft lottery right now, and with McLemore being a great fit there, he earns the nod.
And how about his blocking ability and his defense?
It has been written...

Cameron Buchan @CBuc32
@rick_bonnell I get that we need a Center. But I think McLemore and Shabazz are more talented. Shouldn't we take best overall player?
Rick Bonnell @rick_bonnell
@CBuc32 You mean so that I can hear more complaint about small ball?

Re: 2013 NBA draft prospects chatter
Anthony Bennett was a beast in the 2nd half of tonight's win vs San Diego State.
Anthony Bennett took over: Anthony Bennett was clearly in a shooting hot streak, connecting on three consecutive shots, including a pair of 3-pointers, in the first two minutes of the second half. In the blink of an eye, a six-point halftime deficit turned into a two-point UNLV lead. Then, Bennett didn’t take a shot for about six minutes, and the Rebels against trailed by six. Of course, he drained that shot, making a 3-pointer to make the deficit 54-51. Unbelievable. One of the golden rules in basketball is to continue giving the ball to the player with a hot hand. When that player in a McDonald’s All-American and likely NBA Draft lottery pick, he needs to be the first, second and third options each time down the court. Bennett, who finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, is the type of player that can take over a game and single-handedly help UNLV change its fortunes. The others need to give him the opportunity to carry the team on his back.

About to watch the Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma game. If you have an xbox- you can use the ESPN app and watch almost any archived game from today. I am thinking I am going to watch both Shabazz and Smart tonight.

Marcus Smart keeps reminding me more and more of Dwyane Wade at Marquette every time I watch him. He just affects the game in so many different aspects and he stays aggressive.

Re: 2013 NBA draft prospects chatter
Just some thoughts on the main guard prospects.
Shabazz Muhammad- Plays absolutely no defense. Does not look to put the ball on the floor and tends to settle for tough jumpshots. I think he will be able to score at the next level, but will not contribute much in other areas. Don't know if winning means much to him and he tends to stand on offense. He kind of reminds me of Nick Young/Harrison Barnes.
Ben McLemore- Tends to be passive for long stretches of games. Extremely good outside shooter when his feet are set. Kansas does a good job of running set plays for him whether it be running off screens or lob plays, but does not really make something from nothing much. Needs to work on one-one moves if he wants to be elite shooting guard. He kind of reminds me of slightly more athletic Bradley Beal.
Marcus Smart- Handles the ball a good bit, but I see him being more successful as a 2 guard in the NBA. Hard to project how well he moves off the ball because he has it so much, but he is constantly making big plays. Has the quickness and strength to get to the basket and finish through contact. Streaky outside shooter, but can create his own shot off the dribble. Great defender and has flashy playmaking skills. He kinda reminds me of Wade, but doesn't quite have his elite explosion or maybe Kyrie, but further from being finished product.
I think in general Shabazz and McLemore will be really good players in the NBA and both put up good scoring numbers. However, I think Marcus Smart has the best chance of being an elite player in the league, because he has the best handles, impacts the game from every aspect, and can score the ball in more ways. If Smart can just improve his shot, which isn't even bad, he will have very few holes in his game coupled with his great work ethic make for an exciting player.

Yep, for this team they cover a huge scoring need, so the pick should be between those two, if both are gone, you grab Noel and wait til 2014 to grab a perimeter star (hopefully Wiggins or Parker, if not Andrew Harrison).

The best pro prospect is Joel James, he will need time, but watch out.
I like Reggie Bullock, he can play both wing positions, his shot is great and he defends, he will be a good starter in some serious teams.
