Only Conley would push Parker to the bench, if the Spurs signs him...I very much doubt that Popovich would start Lin ahead of Parker since he's very popular in San Antonio and an Hall Of Famer..At least in the mind of many Spurs fan.
I simply don't think Lin has done enough "as for statistics" to displace Parker and Popovich is very loyal guy...Only a border-line All-Star like Conley or even Rondo, would force Pop's to tell Parker to come off the bench....
Na, Parker has "gotten over himself". He would definitely come off the bench for the good of the team and his own health; also to prolong his career.
He's pretty done as a starter, if not this year, then for sure next. He is only averaging like 10 pts, isn't the defender he was. He's got tons of mileage.
I strongly disagree with that...Lin is simply not regarded well enough around the league to displace Parker...
Lin had a nice year but his fg% and 3ptfg% is not high enough to justify removing a potential Hall of Famer out of the starting spot.
When Lin was traded to the Lakers, no one talked about him displacing Steve Nash out of the starting 5...If Spurs were to sign Lin, it'd probably be to back up Parker, just like Lin was going to back up Steve Nash as a Laker.
Also, Parker still ended with a 48%FG and about 40% 3point, although he only took very few of them.
I can only see the Spurs replacing Parker with someone that is well respected..a top 10 PG and this is why we've heard Conley being linked to the Spurs but we haven't heard any rumors about the Spurs interested in Lin...
If they show interest, it would probably be for about $5m-$8m range which would mean back-up role for Parker because Parker can no longer play 32mpg....Same situation as Steve Nash and Lin.
Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

Most of the posters were informed and reasonable -- and the moderators demonstrated a lot of class, restraint, tolerance, and good judgment in indulging the Lin fans. As Baxter tells the bear in Anchorman, "I will tell tales of your compassion."
In my short time following the Hornets, the things that stood out were Kemba's leadership and humility, Eric Collins's "how do you do's!", Stephanie Ready's pretty decent analysis, the Honey bees, and the overall camaraderie of the team. And of course, visiting Charlotte for the Raptors game in December (which incidentally was Lin's first start of the year as well as his highest scoring game of the year) and getting a picture with Dell Curry. I will not miss Rick Bonnell's insights or Spencer Hawes's no-look hook shots. I will surprisingly miss Al Jefferson's feathery jumpers. I'm disappointed I didn't get to see MKG play a full season, I'm pretty sure the team would've won 50+ games and got to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Now that Byron Scott is gone and Luke Walton is aboard, I can go back to rooting for my hometown Lakers but I'll continue to support the Hornets. And Lin wherever he ends up. I am thoroughly impressed by Charlotte and its fans. Good luck all!

those 3 teams mentioned have meeting with Lin on Friday, right? Hornets are in Dallas meeting with Batum at that time. Certainly Lin has to understand this part of the equation. I can't imagine that both sides have just decided to move on without even a discussion.
