no he's saying he's going to the Nets because he doesn't want to be on the "2nd" unit anymore. He's ready to shine.

Might be peacing out of the NBA altogether. He's gonna be Euroleague's version of CP3.

Its definitely a sign for "two" meaning he is coming back to Charlotte for a 2nd year. So obvious.

OMG do you think he has a clone somewhere and he's saying this second JLin is going to come out of hiding and sign with the Nets and the JLin we all know going to the Pistons?

Pretty sure that's what is going on.

I dont post here often....and I'm not sure whats going to happen here but I really like this team. I came because of Lin but really liked the feel of this squad. Kemba is one of the most unrelated players in the NBA>...hes simply put, a stud....he is. Batum although his TO's drove me crazy is also a really good player. If this team had a rim protector it would go much further. Im thinking Lin is going to go as Im pretty sure he will start someplace next year. But I would be happy to see him come back to the Hornets. great team with some really good fans. No crazy Lin hate...the fans here seem to be smart and love the team. Houston and LA not soooo much

Given that it's likely that Lin will leave, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed my time on this Hornets site. Most of the posters were informed and reasonable -- and the moderators demonstrated a lot of class, restraint, tolerance, and good judgment in indulging the Lin fans. As Baxter tells the bear in Anchorman, "I will tell tales of your compassion."

In my short time following the Hornets, the things that stood out were Kemba's leadership and humility, Eric Collins's "how do you do's!", Stephanie Ready's pretty decent analysis, the Honey bees, and the overall camaraderie of the team. And of course, visiting Charlotte for the Raptors game in December (which incidentally was Lin's first start of the year as well as his highest scoring game of the year) and getting a picture with Dell Curry. I will not miss Rick Bonnell's insights or Spencer Hawes's no-look hook shots. I will surprisingly miss Al Jefferson's feathery jumpers. I'm disappointed I didn't get to see MKG play a full season, I'm pretty sure the team would've won 50+ games and got to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Now that Byron Scott is gone and Luke Walton is aboard, I can go back to rooting for my hometown Lakers but I'll continue to support the Hornets. And Lin wherever he ends up. I am thoroughly impressed by Charlotte and its fans. Good luck all!

Yeah, but he is holding up 2 fingers. If he just needed to pee, it would be 1 finger.

Only Conley would push Parker to the bench, if the Spurs signs him...I very much doubt that Popovich would start Lin ahead of Parker since he's very popular in San Antonio and an Hall Of Famer..At least in the mind of many Spurs fan.

I simply don't think Lin has done enough "as for statistics" to displace Parker and Popovich is very loyal guy...Only a border-line All-Star like Conley or even Rondo, would force Pop's to tell Parker to come off the bench....

Na, Parker has "gotten over himself". He would definitely come off the bench for the good of the team and his own health; also to prolong his career.

He's pretty done as a starter, if not this year, then for sure next. He is only averaging like 10 pts, isn't the defender he was. He's got tons of mileage.

I strongly disagree with that...Lin is simply not regarded well enough around the league to displace Parker...

Lin had a nice year but his fg% and 3ptfg% is not high enough to justify removing a potential Hall of Famer out of the starting spot.

When Lin was traded to the Lakers, no one talked about him displacing Steve Nash out of the starting 5...If Spurs were to sign Lin, it'd probably be to back up Parker, just like Lin was going to back up Steve Nash as a Laker.

Also, Parker still ended with a 48%FG and about 40% 3point, although he only took very few of them.

I can only see the Spurs replacing Parker with someone that is well respected..a top 10 PG and this is why we've heard Conley being linked to the Spurs but we haven't heard any rumors about the Spurs interested in Lin...

If they show interest, it would probably be for about $5m-$8m range which would mean back-up role for Parker because Parker can no longer play 32mpg....Same situation as Steve Nash and Lin.

Parker is not close to Nash. Parker is mainly a slasher and midrange shooter. Nash was elite in facilitating and three point shooting. Parker's game doesn't age as well as Nash's. Of course, you can't beat nerve problem; and Parker probably doesn't wanna develop that. It's not about Lin, Parker needs to come off the bench; having him chase Lillard, Westbrook, Curry etc every night isn't good for him. He's got tons of mileage and it's better to save him for the playoffs, he doesn't have a huge ego. I thought he could play at a high level for another year or two but his play dropped off quickly towards the end of the last season.

The Spurs are trying to win championships, Lakers weren't. Pop doesn't care much about respect around the league and stuff like that. He would definitely not sacrifice the well being of the whole team just for Parker's ego. If they sign Lin, he'd be next in line as the starter soon if not from day 1, they'd have to pay market value for him.

It was reported that the teams that have meetings set up with Lin do not include the Hornets. If that is true, I do not think Lin is coming back. Based on his previous experience, I do not think Lin is going to play for a team that does not really "need" him.

Careful what you Lin fans wish for. I know you really want him to start, but losing 65+ games on the Nets with absolutely no future is not going to be very fun to follow.

those 3 teams mentioned have meeting with Lin on Friday, right? Hornets are in Dallas meeting with Batum at that time. Certainly Lin has to understand this part of the equation. I can't imagine that both sides have just decided to move on without even a discussion.

Makes sense for Lin to meet first with teams driving his market. Charlotte needs clarity on Nic and homework provided by Lin and Marvin to see what's possible.

Please don't call "You Lin fans" when you want to make comments. Indeed, Lin has a lot of fans worldwide, but they are very different.

That's fine but it sounded like they are not having a meeting at all from the report. This coupled with Bonnell's tweet of "hard sell" makes me quite pessimistic at the moment.

I'm positive. His team will probably be in the playoffs next season.
Most NBA stats aren't credible. At most times the people who interprets those data are biased, or the data themselves are flawed. Basketball is just too complicated with so many uncontrollable variables.
