Definitely the current one. The second one you mentioned made the NBA finals.

A more apt comparison would be the Nash/Kobe/Dwight/Pau/Artest team to the current one.

That old Lakers team was SO stacked though. Like, seriously stacked. Way more stacked than the current Lakers team.

Anything short of the Championship was a shortfall.

The 2013 team is a way bigger disappointment.

Current team.

Payton and Malone were ancient and Malone was hurt in the Finals. Honestly think they win it if he was available. Also they were dealing with Kobe's off court stuff. I think they did alright all things considered.

The current team woes basically fall on LeBron's being a **** backdoor GM and Davis inability to be a franchise leader. LeBron shouldn't have to be the best player on the court at 37 with Anthony Davis on the team.

Yeah I'm a huge Gary Payton fan and watching that season unfold was painful. Payton hurt that team more than helped them. Malone had a little left but kobe and Shaq would've been way better off without them.

And honestly should have won 45 to 47.

Vegas, along with most everyone else, expect the Hornets to under-perform compared to the talent level.

all of us who watched this team should understand we under achieved, despite what vegas thought.
and if mitch would have added a few vets in the summer to provide some experience and not blown our moves, we are a 50-win team. i firmly believe the core was ready.

they won 9 more games than last year despite a broken C rotation and half a season of Hayward, plus China Flu shenanigans early in the year

They most certainly did not underachieve

Every team dealt with covid. That's irrelevant. China flu? Seriously? Don't start that **** here.

9 games more than last year when our best player was a rookie and before miles blew up? Apples and oranges.

Whoever said they'd rather play the Nets than the Cavs/Hawks........lol.

They're beating the Cavs 40-20 after Q1.

yeah...if only they had the gift of hindsight and had a completely different team, their record would've been better

which is essentially what you're saying lol

you play with the team you have. not with what you could've had. go dig up the record predictions and compare the final record with what we were all thinking. I'd guess most of us bet under.

This, this and this.
Our health/injuries and the supporting cast compared to last year was a wash. Miles and LaMelo made major and moderate/minor jumps as players respectively. Of course we should have won more games than last year.

I predicted around 47-50 wins if my memory serves. Young team with a young potential superstar improving and all.....

Brooklyn needs to hold onto their lead on Cleveland, because I want absolutely no part of them in our play-in path. The Cavs minus Allen don't scare me at all

Duration, Irving & Brown each playing over 40 minutes against Cleveland. You watching coach, don't take your foot off the pedal. Obviously fouls permitting Lamelo, Miles should play over 40 and see who's hot and ride them
