still thinking I'd want a pick or brooks back as well. For us this isn't a huge gain given that we won't be making the playoffs or anything anyway, while they're looking to try to get out of the first round. With that in mind I think we have the bargaining advantage since neither player matters that much to us long term.

@HowardBeckNYT
Of note: I'm told Charlotte proposed the deal. So it would appear it's up to the Nets to decide whether to pull the trigger.

I wouldn't call Humphries an experiment by any means.

If Gordon doesn't suit up tonight the trade is all but done.

Since I am a huge fan of Ben McLemore and also a fan of Shabazz I see Henderson as a backup who is about to become too expensive for a backup on a small market team.

So I'd want Brooks back as he is a cheaper long term backup at SG.

I would include Henderson in the deal. I don't envision the team locking him up long term.

I think Humphries compliments Al Jefferson well.

Ok. Another PF who comes in and Dunlap decides whether or not he's a better fit than Warrick, Tyrus, Adrien.

Not much to decide in my opinion. Humphries can average a double double. The three you mentioned cant.

I think he'd welcome a move to a more wholesome place, being the starter on a team seeking to add other pieces and climb out of the cellar. Brooks has some skills and he would be (at worst) a quality reserve down the road. I'm sure they will be posturing for a pick, but I'd offer them Hendo and Gordon for Hump and Brooks...no pick (unless it's a 2013 2nd rounder).
Slow down there... We're not dumping Hendo for this. It's Hump for Gordon. They have pretty even trade value IMO. I would be pretty happy with a Hump for Gordon swap, but it could improve in our favor. I definitely get the feeling Brooks will be involved, which would be great as long as Hendo isn't involved.

I'm with Bass and Ichiro on this.

Gordon for Humph straight up is indeed pretty even value for both teams - But what is the objective for Charlotte? Humpheries definitely helps our front court but only to the extent that he aids us in winning a few additional meaningless games this year while hurting our lotto ball numbers.

If we can nab Brooks in the deal simply by throwing in Henderson or a second, we should do so.

Hendo is likely gone after this season. Some team is going to overpay and throw him a $6-7mil a year offer sheet and Charlotte will be fools if they match it. If they dont act on Henderson, we'll have nothing to show for the lotto pick, just like the outcome of the DJA tenure.

We might as well claim some value for Henderson while we can. Brooks would be a nice young prospect and with hendo and gordon gone, have ample minutes to show what he can do.

At worst, brooks would make them a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch for the remainder of this pathetic season.

Ok now im confused..... there have been several posters on here saying they are tired of all the projects and etc, etc. and have caught hell. But trading for a guy that fill a obvious need, can get you a double-double or atleast double digit rebounds and he isnt really costing you anything more than what you are already paying and thats considered an experiment vs what we've been rolling on the floor??

Shawn Marion won't report to a "crummy" situation, huh?

How about we trade Tyrus Thomas and Hendo for Shawn Marion? He doesn't report, he takes a real low buyout so that he can go play somewhere else, and we get rid of Tyrus Thomas. All for the cost of Hendo, which I have a feeling that MJ is not going to pay anyways. We get TT off the books!

Excerpts from a chat earlier today by Susan Bible, a HOOPSWORLD member who cover the OKC Thunder and the NBA at large.

LSO - I know Presti holds his cards close to the chest but if you HAD to speculate, what do you think might happen with the trades Feb. 21. How about any other NBA teams???

Susan Bible - I don’t think we’re going to see a lot of jaw-dropping movement by the trade deadline, i.e. names we haven’t really read about. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised with trades of: Josh Smith (the Hawks may be the most active…and the Timberwolves), Andrea Bargnani, Carlos Boozer, Kris Humphries, J.J. Redick, Jordan Crawford, Marcin Gortat, DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, Al Jefferson and Shawn Marion.
As for the Thunder, it’s all pure speculation, but I would suspect they package perhaps Eric Maynor, Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb for a strong backup point guard to prepare for the playoffs. J.J. Barea perhaps? Or a big man?

Sessions > Barea

I know the possibility of trading Sessions to the Thunder for Jeremy Lamb has been a recurring topic on this board since November but I find it encouraging to read from other sources that OKC might be looking for backup PG help.
They will wage war against the Lamb but the Lamb will triumph them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings - and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers." Revelation 17:14 (NIV)

:D :D :D :D :D Trade checker 3252765 Biz/War/Diop for Al Jefferson. This would be good for both Utah and Charlotte. Biz gives Utah young big defensive presence. Warwick is good bench player and Diops expiring still leaves Utahplenty of money to resign players. Al is same age as Hump 28(we get from trading Gordon to Brooklyn)
Al and Hump together would be awesome with Mully off bench as they all rotate between 4-5 position with Haywood and Adrien. And we still have slashers in MKG/JT/Sessions/.......Kemba/Brooks/ Mully shooting 3s
WOW...

I think they can do better than Biyombo for their allstar caliber 28yo PF.

Jefferson is still every bit a 20/10 PF. His numbers are down slightly only because he splits post offense with Milsap now and also plays 3-4 mins less per game to allow Favors/Kanter to split time.
