If Mitch is still the GM, I 100% do not want us to make any major decisions because he's going to be setting the cupboard for the next FO. I'm surprised anyone would want us to make big trades at this deadline.

Does trading Hayward constitute a big trade?

If so, I'm surprised anyone wouldn't want to trade that contract.

If that's the case, then we should fire Mitch ASAP.

I don't think anyone expects us to trade for Zion. We aren't a buying team.

But to not trade Gordon's expiring for something and not being open to trading Rozier if we get a good offer is just neglectful. And brings up the question of whats the point of having Mitch around if he isn't allowed to make any moves.

Of course, this also depends on what "significant" means but I think Gordon and Rozier quality for that.

Allowing Gordo to expire is borderline malpractice and a fireable offense on its own

For me significant is giving a pick or prospect or taking on long term salary.

I do think we should move on from Mitch before the deadline.

I have this weird feeling Klutch and Bridges will want close to the max. He will leave for a max somewhere else possibly Detroit.

Then we will end up signing Klay Thompson to a 100mil contract for 3 years.

Please tell me im wrong!

Free Agency this summer is a bunch of guys who are overpaid right now, who will sign for cheaper vet contracts.

Gordon Hayward, Kyle Lowry, Demar Derozan, Klay Thompson, James Harden, Mike Conley,....most of these guys are MLE candidates for contenders and will be making 10-12 million per year instead of 30+. These guys are probably the most sought after group because they will be good values. They all think they are worth more money then they will get.

Kawhi, PG, Maxey, Siakam, OG, Immanuel Quickley, Nic Claxton.. The big name tix. Probably will resign with who they end year with but their will be a little chase the days leading up to FA.

Obi, Caleb Martin, Patrick Williams, Kyle Anderson, Okoro, Alec Burks, Royce Oneale... This group is probably sought after because they are players that aren't going to get paid a lot but are attractive role players.

Finally, Miles comes into play with guys like Tobias, Hield, DLo, Dinwiddie, Saddiq Bey, Valanciunas... this is the group of guys that all should be 20+ million and it will be interesting to see which get paid. Likely switching teams is going to lose them money because FA money dries up quick.

Wouldn't mind PG as a vet mentor, but there is no chance he comes to Charlotte.

I still think Klay Thompson is a serious possibility because that seems like a Hornets move especially if we can't bring Bridges back.

I think whoever is interested in LaVine would be interested in Gordon and Terry.

I mean you are pretty much saying lets pick top 5 the next two drafts. If you want to win 35 combined games over the next 700 days we can go that route. Just know that is what this means.

Yeah, if the trade has no incoming players, strictly subtraction.

Sorry... I'm not saying trade it all for picks or cap space, just trade for different players. Like, actually try to build a functional roster that compliments our young core. Add some vets, some toughness, some shooting or some character. Just try something different. We know this core ain't it.

Houston has shown what you can do by adding some vets and a good coach

After all the embarrassment the organization is enduring for keeping Miles I fully expect him to repay them with leaving. I'd be thrilled for him to leave.

Honestly no one cares that he's playing for us. Because no one cares about the Hornets. He could sign a 150 million dollar deal tomorrow and it'd be news for 36 hours. No one cares. At all.

Gut it, sounds like you are trading away guys for pennies.

I think most people are okay trading them, but we also have 20 pages of unrealistic trades. To actually get players who are better we are probably giving up these guys plus assets. It is not like Hayward and Rozier are hot commodities that are bringing in better players.

Especially Bridges. We are going to get 25 cents on the dollar if we trade him. I get it is easy for people to dislike him, there are smear campaigns about his defense all over twitter, despite him being able to play both forward spots and having the best Drating on the team.

You aren't getting anything close to a player that scores 20 on 55+ efg% back for him in a deal. If we want to get a guy that can score 10 ppg and average at most things for him I am sure that is reasonable.

I like Olynyk on this team. I've wanted a 2nd or 3rd center who can shoot 3s for a while. Gives our offense a different look to the rim runners.
