I was told on BCP that I have to be extremely patient with Bismack Biyombo, and I shouldn't comment on his growth or his lack thereof until 2018 because that's about the time to expect him to make a impact in the NBA, so that's what I'm going to do until 2018 :meditate:

I ws impressed by Faried's DX scouting video. I would surely hoped for us to take him would we keep our 19th pick. I remeber I coudn't believe how far he slipped. Don't get me wrong I glad how ourr draft went and don't know how much I would reach for him, even in hinsight, but I liked him, his motor and man among boys play were enough to take a small risk with him. After all most of draftees are picked with risked, based on potential, rarely they are complete players, difference makers from day one. Faried seemed as a low risk player to me.

You have to remember that we were/are in "draft a star mode" b/c drafting solid role player guys like Faried or Leonard has done nothing to help this franchise (Okafor, May, Felton, Ammo, Hendo, etc). If a guy has the slightest scent of being an elite player in the future Cho and Co. are swinging away for that homerun. Biyombo had that scent so Biyombo is what we got. Is Biz a homerun or is he an easy out pop-fly? We won't know until the ball comes down to see where it lands.

2018 is a bit extreme, don't you think? He'll have 7 years on NBA experience under his belt by then. If we don't see much improvement by the time he's in his contract year, I'll start to get a little worried, but it's still way too early for me to be worried in any meaning of the word.

Everybody knew that Faried would be able to rebound and hustle if not anything else in the NBA. The question marks on him coming out of college are still the same question marks for him in the pros and that's the fact that he is raw offensively, not the type of player that you give the ball in a halfcourt set and expect results.

If everybody expected Kenneth to average 12 and 10 he would not have slid all the way down to twenty-two.
I didn't expect him to slip more than a spot or two out of the lottery. One of the most underhyped players in recent memory IMO. I wanted Biz, Kemba, Faried, or Kawhi Leonard at #9 and Vucevic, Singleton (yuck), or Nolan Smith (yuck) at #19. I didn't dare to hope Faried was going to be there at #19.

I still can't get why he was picked after Morris twins. end of lottery seems to be about right for him and yet justifiable reach (not a reach in hindsight).

Is Biyombo on the trade block?

I would be shocked and disappointed if he was unless we're getting really good offers, which we likely aren't.

A thread from the Bulls message board from a person who seems to have some inside sources(the source has been right about some moves in the past few years, so understand most rumors never happen even if they may be talked about).

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1226818

As reported earlier this week on Rumor Press, the Charlotte Bobcats are interested in reacquiring their protected first round pick from the Tyrus Thomas trade. They’ve talked to the Bulls a few times and Bismack Biyombo was brought up in conversations. Biyombo has two years left on his rookie contract, but has underperformed for a Top-10 pick.

The Bulls have no interest in trading the Bobcats pick in return for a package built around Biyombo. The Bobcats are seeking a third team with a young, athletic big that they hope can interest the Bulls. We have no recent indication of the Bulls shopping the Bobcats pick, but dating back from last year, we know Charlotte wants the pick back.

I'd be surprised to see us move him just to get our pick back. If we did we would be looking for a productive big in return.

they would never give us that pick back...they think its the golden ticket. can you a imagine Tyrus Thomas costing us a first rounder and Biz.

Bulls fans value that pick too much. Our Detroit pick has way worse protection than the one we gave them and I don't see any of us creaming our pants over it

Honestly I can see that pick being an better than a mid first. charlotte is a PF and a SG away having a decent team and the east is super weak.

they think the gamble is worth holding onto though, which is fine but they're way overvaluing the pick

from the trade artivcle

“Biz has to get better. But he’s only 20 years old,’’ said Cho, who was key to scouting and drafting Biyombo.

LOL at some of the comments.

I forgot where I read it, but last week I read an article that had us sending Gerald to Sacremento in a package for Jason Thomas who would go to Chicago with us getting Rip and our pick. Don't know the validity.

Jason Thomas? Was that supposed to be Jason Thompson or Isiah Thomas?

That's a pretty decent deal for us if it's Thompson.

EDIT: nvm just realized Thompson/Thomas would go to Chicago. Bad deal for us. We don't need Rip and I don't really think we need our pick back unless we're still looking to deal our 2013 pick.

Does Biz have the worst hands and feet ever?

Post#1320 » by Leolovinliberal » Tue Jan 29, 2013 6:11 am

Body of a Greek god, balance and coordination of Helen Keller after an all night bender. I swear the dude has canned hams at the end of his wrists where most of us have hands. How many freaking balls did he drop, bobble, get stolen from, etc? Plus he falls down all of the time. I honestly don't know if these things can be fixed.
