I wish we could find a way to pry Marc Gasol from Memphis, he would be PERFECT as the starting C for the 2.0 Hornets. Memphis is primed to hit the reset button on their roster, but unfortunately they don't have anyone tied up long term so you have to assume they hold on to Gasol even if they blow up their roster.

I think I would do Cody + Al + multiple 1sts in a second for Gasol, and I really don't want to trade Cody.

I feel we should sell high on Al while we can. Hopefully he has a couple more games like this and we can trade him for Noah, Faried, etc.

I doubt Memphis trades Gasol and you have to be a little concerned that Gasol looks out of shape and slow.

Will certainly be interesting to see what this team will look like come 2/19/2016.
Looking at the teams over the small 10 game sample, the Hornets may or may not fall into the playoffs, so I'm thinking there will be trades done.

He'd be perfect for us, but they just re-upped him. I don't see anyway they let him go for something that measly anyway.

I doubt we make any big moves. the biggest move i can see is trading Al for something, and that wont happen if we are in the playoff race unless he just sucks so bad we have to trade him.

we will probably trade for a low-value vet SG to take over PJ;s role. similar to the Mo Williams and Neal/Ridnour deals we made the past 2 years

I dont know if the value is right, but here it is. Memphis decides to rebuild and we snag our defender.

Marvin (expiring) + PJ (expiring) + 2 2nd round picks for Russ Smith (2 yr 800k per) and Tony Allen (2yr 5mill per)

I think If PJ could shoot he'd have the role as a shooter rather than a defender. If the team can add another shooter I think they will. Eric Gordon or Kevin Martin fit what we're trying to do. We don't need a defense specialist in place of PJ. We happen to have one because he can't shoot. The last thing I want is someone to come in and shoot as bad or worse than PJ or have no skill on offense. We already have that.

After the Blazers win Clifford said the team was historically great the first 6 games at defensive rebounding but the next 3 ranked near the bottom. The Blazers out rebounded the Hornets by 9 and that those 2nd chances helped propel their comeback.

I would love to target a rebounding machine who can play uptempo like Lee or Faried.

Ill pass on Lee, but would be ecstatic to somehow get Faried.

I would think the price tag would be gigantic. But we at least need to solidify rebounding to advance in the playoffs and attract free agents and get Batum to re-sign

Lee would serve more of a purpose than Al. He's a better rebounder, better passer and more mobile. And it's not like you can ignore him in the post.

I would give up a 1st for Faried. Even one of Zeller / Kaminsky as well. I don't know how Faried plays with Al though. If Faried were only 3 inches taller...

Browsing around rosters for trade targets. I click on Zach Randolph, and realize he is 34 years old. I then realize that I am getting old as hell. Seems like just yesterday he was drafted out of Michigan State

I'd love to get taj, & he doesn't seem happy in Chicago anymore.

Give me Taj Gibson all day. Defends well and can hit the mid-range. I'd love to start him and Cody in our frontcourt.

^You'd probably have to send the first to Chicago for that to work. And we'd need a point guard.

What are your guys thoughts on the following players as trade options for us?

Eric Gordon - Im guessing everyone would be on board.

Al Faruq Aminu - Wouldnt have to throw away the farm and he could replace PJs role.

Alex Ajinca - Pretty meh, but kind of what we need at center.

Kevin Martin - Actually dont want anymore. Too much of a sieve.

Alec Burks - Might be available and is solid. Obvious upgrade over PJ.
