Memphis is primed to hit the reset button on their roster, but unfortunately they don't have anyone tied up long term so you have to assume they hold on to Gasol even if they blow up their roster.

I think I would do Cody + Al + multiple 1sts in a second for Gasol, and I really don't want to trade Cody.

I think wed easily would be top 4 in the East with Gasol and top 3 in the league on defense this season. MKG/Frank/Marc could be a great frontcourt next season. We might be contenders. I might give up our next two unprotected 1sts and any number of 2nds to avoid losing Cody.

Lin, Pj, Frank, Cody

Lin would start for us. Perhaps have Brooks sent to NY with Grant coming to us.

I believe that Denver has the right to swap picks with them - but Denver will likely have a higher pick than the Knicks and won't make the swap.

For the pricey options I'd love to have Alec Burks or Faried.

We'd have to give up significant assets for either imo so I don't think we can fortify our team. If we added either one the roster would look completely different.

Like most trade deadlines, I think we will try to keep in place most of our roster and all of our core. We will be lucky to end up with marginal upgrades like E. Gordon or Taj, but I will take that.

Otherwise we're looking at losing any combination of a 1st, Cody, Frank, Lamb, or MKG. Those are our top assets but we're trying to poach other team's top assets in deals for Burks or Faried.

Hornets
Taj Gibson

Bulls
Spencer Hawes
Brian Roberts
Lotto-protected 1st

In order to get Eric Gordon we'd have to move Al to a contender willing to give an asset like a mid-late first to the Pelicans. But if we were able to do that, come playoff time...

Kemba Walker
Eric Gordon
Nic Batum
Marvin Williams
Taj Gibson

Jeremy Lin
Jeremy Lamb
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Cody Zeller
Frank Kaminsky

Will Barton. Can handle and pass the ball with low turnover rate, good defender, slasher, well... not a very good shooter tho, but i think he will fit well with Kemba or Lin. Nuggets are in tanking mode, maybe a protected 1st round pick + PJ or Daniels could work.

I think people are misguided on the Nuggets, they may possibly part ways with Faried, but IMO Faried is highly overrated and not that much better than what we already have. Denver is 5-5 and up and coming I think people very much under evaluate their young talent. Mudiay Barton Nurkic Lavuerne all untouchable in my eyes for Denver, would have been much easier to get a Wilson Chandler from Denver if not for his injury. If we were to get anyone from Denver I would think it would be a deal like Hawes and Lin for Darrell Arthur and foye maybe

I would love to have someone like Gallinari on the hornets tho, but he is really good I doubt that we would be able to get him without giving up an asset such as Cody and a protected first or something of that nature.

I meant more of a backup that isn't Brian Roberts. Now I'd love to get Grant, but I'm not sure the Knicks would be on board with trading a first and Grant for Kemba and Brooks.

The guy the Knicks really want is Nic Batum and we're seeing why. He's showing he can run an offense. He really knows how to exploit other teams using his own teammates. He just has a knack for controlling the flow of the game. His demeanor is very calm and collected as well, and I think his teammates feed on that. They relax and play within themselves, more controlled. He's a damn good leader on the floor.

I don't see a deal with the Knicks unless we change the complexion of our team. I don't think that is in the cards. Again, the moves most likely to happen will fortify the team not totally alter the look of it.

I'd love to somehow get Dennis schroder as our starting PG of the future. if he can get consistent with his jumper he could be a star

What do you guys think of Hassan Whiteside? Obviously it'd be very difficult to get him in a trade, but I'm talking about as a free agent signing. I'm not a huge fan of his maturity but a lineup that includes Batum, MKG, Zeller or Kaminsky, and Whiteside is very intriguing. Not too sure if Kemba is our future PG

I wonder if Noel could be had. He's not playing well playing out of position at PF, he's a natural C, but very skinny. Zeller/Hawes/Hairson and a 1st (top 3 protected) for Stauskas and Noel? Does Hinkie make another ballsy move like that? Who knows what they are doing with their team

Curious to know whether people here would trade Kemba straight up for Ricky Rubio.
Would MIN?

my take: I would. Their contracts basically the same, I like Rubio's fit with Batum, feel like kemba a better fit with the athletic young MIN core.

hell no. Rubio would be a disaster here. This team needs a scoring PG . Perfectly happy with Kemba/Lin/Batum as our main distributors.

Also, injury history is not on Rubio's side, and Rubio honestly appears to have regressed as a scorer... if that's even possible.

In a millasecond Charlotte does that deal but the T-wolves would say no. They're the same age but Rubio is a better defender and distributor for their offensive pieces and Rubio plays at a much faster pace then Kemba. Plus Rubio can guard shooting guards and switch on defense.

Not really a fan of Rubio. Besides, if we traded for him, MKG would have to be traded for a scoring/sharpshooting SF.

Hornets should go after Dwight Howard.

Would love Noel here at the 5. Wonder what it would take to snag him??
