Congrats to Lin, I'll miss him. Hopefully the Nets go out and spend because they need a lot of help.

So is Jack now the newest hated man in Lin nation?

Are the Nets still talking to Brandon Jennings or is that dead now they signed Lin? How nuts would it be if the Nets also signed Jennings and it turned into Lin vs Jennings rivalry. My god the Nets forum might explode. Those two couldn't be more opposite.

Why did Lin take a meeting with the Pelicans? That has me confused. They have Holiday and Evans already on board who both handle the ball a ton.

I hope Lin can improve the Nets enough that they make those picks owed to the Celtics much less valuable. But of course, not winning enough to not the Hornets out of the playoffs. Seriously though, Lin and Lopez a solid start, but the rest of the roster needs a lot of work. If they can just get to 30-35 wins this year that would be a huge win, shows improvement and devalues the Celtics picks.

I'm a big LeVert fan, if he lives up to his potential he'll play really well next to Lin.

Like what Brooklyn is doing.

Lin has said more than once he wanted to play with Anthony Davis.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson as well.

Lin - LeVert - Rondae Hollis-Jefferson - Robinson - Lopez

It's not Philly bad.

I think I'd feel better had they kept Thad Young, not sure LeVert can stay healthy.

If you think Lin fans will hate Jack, then you are giving Jack too much credit.

Maybe he is just mad because he might have to seriously considering playing for Shang Hai Sharks or something in the years to come.

I believe that Jarret Jack just get waived so it was probably a salty reaction.

Don't know about what'll happen with Jennings if they're still interested in him. About the Pelicans, true about him liking AD, also maybe he was trying to gage what type of interest he could get elsewhere as well, doesn't hurt.

The Nets roster is pretty raw and bare right now but from what I'm reading they still have a lot of money to throw around to FAs.

A Pelicans fan on the general board thinks they're trying to move Tyreke Evans, that's why they were interested in Lin. Jeremy wanting to play with AD shows how smart he is. I'll always hate the Pelicans because of their history with us, but it's insane to me that a marquee player has yet to show significant interest in playing for them.

Lin taking less than market value but can easily make up for it with endorsement deals playing in New York. There's also a player option for the 3rd year, a trade kicker and bonus clauses. He may end up getting a lot more.

Apparently Kenny Atkinson is good at player development. Will be interesting to see how much better the Nets can get.

Best of luck the rest of the way Charlotte, in before the lock.

I'll be hanging around.

Well, there's one major FA not re-signed for Charlotte. So how to replace Lin I guess will be a topic started if it hasn't been already. Good luck to Lin, but I still don't love the Nets. It all depends on who they put on the team. The best part is I hope he's home for 3 years and no more team movement for some time.

Crazy thing is, I'm in NY and Comcast still doesn't have a deal with the Nets while League Pass blocks the games out. I have no idea how I'm going to watch the games.

I feel Lin got underpaid in light of what Mozgov and Clarkson got, but he wasnt gonna take any chances on the starting PG market drying up. If the BRK coach promised he's gonna start and give him a relatively sizable deal, a trade kicker, performance incentives, and a 3rd year player option (this is a HUGE coup for Lin who can opt out at age 30 for 1 more big deal), it's an understandable decision instead of chasing a few more mil.

Well looks like this will be my last post here. You guys have been a great bunch and have treated Lin fans, even the hardcore fanatics, alot better than expected. I hope you guys keep building on your success as you have a good likable bunch of guys.

I wanna see a fully healthy MKG goddamnit.

Thanks to this Hornets board, I've had the most enjoyable experience here of any forum by far. We don't always agree but the mods and forum members have been classy.

Will try to keep up with the Hornets team for sure! Good too see Batum getting retained at a fair price, interested to see how Kaminsky blossoms, hope to see a healty MKG for a full season and for Kemba to continue his fine play. Hopefully Marvin will be back as well as adding in another marquee player to the group, especially if Lee doesn't return.

I think it might have been the Bulls.

I really like the deal for Jeremy. He gets to go back to a city that loved him when he first burst onto the scene, and he reunites with a coach who believed in him even when he was an undrafted nobody.

12m/Year is a tier below his market value, which is probably around 15m, but the sacrificing (for probably 9-10 million) was probably in order to get his Player Option in the 3rd year, which gives him flexibility in case things don't go as planned (which is an important selling point for him after his reputation was trashed in HOU + LA, and he couldn't do anything about it, since he was under contract).

The BRK deal is reminiscent of his Hornets deal, as he valued fit and having a Player Option when he came here too (over money). If you factor in how his last two deals have gone (giving up $$$ in both deals for other factors), it's pretty apparent that having a good environment, fit, and contractual flexibility are his main sticking points (Also: leaving aside 3m/a year also isn't the biggest sticking point for Lin, probably because he gets 3-5m from his Addidas/China endorsements anyway).

All in all, good decision for Jeremy.

As for the Hornets, I never thought you guys had a chance to retain him the moment he signed here (no offense), because the writing was already on the wall when he signed with a Player Option on his 1/1 deal. The deal itself was just a clear indicator that Lin was betting on himself to rebuild his reputation here, and then if things went to plan, he would leave Charlotte for a Starting position in the coming year. In the end, this is what happened, but the time spent here was a good ride for both the Hornets and Lin while it lasted.

I haven't followed the Hornets since Elden Campbell was on your squad and you guys went on that 18-game winning streak or whatever it was way back in the late 90s... but following you guys this year was fun. I had hope I would be watching a free flowing offensive team when I tuned into the pre-season games, and then worries I would be watching a plodding Alfense team at the beginning of the season when things were going poorly, but as the season progressed, there was a lot of beautiful competent basketball to watch--a handful of thrillers.

As a fanbase, you guys are pretty cool. You support your guys and don't run away when things get tough, true fans. I know that Charlotte basketball has been weak in present times, but the run this year seemed to bring the Hive to life stronger than it has in a long time. I was happy to see that for you guys here, who seem to have been around for a long time, supporting the team even throughout relocation. Your mods in the online community are some of the best too--very knowledgeable overall.
On October 31, 2009, against the Kings, a bat descended onto the court causing a stoppage of play. As the bat flew past, Ginóbili swatted the bat to the ground with his hand. He then carried the creature off the court, earning the applause of the crowd.
