......and a couple of weeks later Mark Price goes on Mannix's podcast. Mannix asked him whether there was a fallout following the loss on The Shot by MJ and Price straight up replied that - yeah, we traded Ron Harper for Danny Ferry. That's the one which messed it all up.

Price, btw, also talks about working with MKG on his shot.

I very much appreciate the win, though I never intended the sim(which never got finished haha) to count toward the voting.

I don't even mind if the win is given to Gatz. He won it the way every other person has won it in the past.

How about we declare Co-winners. ESAL and GATZ.

The sim was awesome and should count in some way. BTW, we still need a sim winner between you and YB, right? Just for curiosity sake.

We can all safely assume that the REAL best team won the title. And by that of course I mean my team.

I'd be down! Had a lot of fun with the last one. Think we need a streamlined voting system at the end though.

I believe that having certain matchups makes it easier to vote. With all these legends around, it's quite difficult to pick a couple of teams against the rest of the field. When there's particular matchups and assignments to look at, however, it's not that bad.

I would suggest something like ESAL simming a season for seeding and then us doing it playoff style through our own voting.

Love the idea of simming for seeding if ESAL is up for it. I think the computer model isn't super great but it's a fun/interesting element.

I'm up for another round. I am open to any suggestions for a better way to pick a winner. We need to agree on a time period to use then start coming up with some fun, unique categories.

from memory some categories discussed during this draft
Giants - have to be 7'3 or taller
Vertically challenged - 5'10 or smaller
Land Downunder - Was born, played, coached, worked or has had an extended stay to Australia (eg. A mormon on a 2 year mission in Aus) I also expanded to more than playing to allow for the likes of Sedale Threatt who I can't find record of him playing in Aus, even though I'm sure he played in one of the state leagues.

How about Non Team USA Olympians (this would allow Fat's to draft Walter Herrmann)

maybe a few categories that dont just require bball ref searches but more research

I still like the idea about these categories

Internatio-role - Any player born outside the USA who wasn't ever selected for an All-Star or an All-NBA team.
Flash in the pan - Any player whose NBA career lasted five (or, perhaps, six) seasons or less (requires research for the druggies, the unfortunate deaths, the one-season wonders, etc.)

for those wondering, Mengke Bateer qualifies for both

It would be interesting to do the research on this to determine which guys would then be left off. I would say no though, some very average guys have made the All-Rookie 2nd team over the years.
