Ok, I now want the lockout to last a bit longer as it looks like Andrew Bogut might be joining my local team in Perth. Our team has is old coach and 3 players from his world championship winning junior national team.

Bogut has agreed to pay for next nothing as long as his insurance is paid.

He would dominate this league like Shaq.

And Patty Mills is going to look like Nash playing for the Tigers.

I dunno, we have some great defensive point guards. They managed to put the clamps on Homicide Williams, they should be able handle Mills.

It'd be cool to see how dominant some of the NBA's international stars could be in their domestic leagues. I imagine we'd see quite a few records smashed.

Although I upload a lot of these throwbacks, I think that this might be worth dropping by.

I truly believe that this could be the first Shawn Bradley video on internet that actually has good footage of him. I'm trying to make my case, that he wasn't that bad. Got this very rare game in a trade.

YES!!!

Shawn Bradley was my cult hero and I agree he did bring value to a team. Everybody just thinks of a tall lanky white dude who got dunked on. But the reason there are plenty of vids of him being dunked on was that he would challenge EVERY shot/dunk. There were some awesome blocks when he went back to back for double digit blocks.

What can't be shown by stats was the amount of shots that were missed just because of his presence in the key.

On a side note, Shaq always seemed to fire up against Bradley, anybody know why?

Well I think that some of these stats just sum up how good he could be. Once with the Nets Bradley posted back-to-back triple-doubles to become the first player in NBA history to record consecutive games of double-figure blocked shots twice in a single season. In one particular game during his stint in Dallas Bradley totalled 22 points, 22 rebounds, and a career-high 13 blocked shots in an April contest against the Trail Blazers. It was just the fifth time in NBA history that a player finished with at least 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 blocks in a single game, and it marked the first time ever that it was accomplished by a player who wasn't a starter in the game. The only other players to record a 20-20-10 game are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elvin Hayes, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Shaquille O'Neal. Nice company, isn't it? Shawn during his NBA career has recorded a triple double 6 times, double digit blocked shots - 10 times.

I remember those games, the back to back double figure block shots even made the main stream sports news down here in Western Australia, which was pretty unusual for that time.

Thought sending a PM to Fats about this, however maybe there is someone else interested in this. Another one of my throwback videos - Dan Issel (I believe that you Fats said that you're interested in 84-89 Nuggets stuff, we'll then this is somewhat relevant) during his prime in the ABA, one of the all-time ABA greats who never got the recognition he deserved - Louie Dampier and a Dr. J on the way to his first championship title scoring 35 on the Kentucky Colonels.

Yes, I actually watched a 40 year old, grainy, low quality ABA game during a Friday night and then edited it. There's something not quite right with me, I know that.

speaking of the aba, i know i mentioned the other day that i just started reading "loose balls" the book about the aba. you guys should totally check that book out. some of the stories about the aba are nuts. its like a bunch of random dudes like us just got together and threw together a basketball league................. and it worked. there was no planning, no foresight, just learn as you go.

YES!!!! Have read it, loved every bit of it. I love the funny stories, to learn about ABA players who never got the recognition they deserved etc. Not only one of my favorite sports books of all-time, but one of my favorite books of any type, period. Still like to read over some parts of it.
You'll definitely like my first batch of ABA uploads. Now I just have to see all these guys in action after reading it.

More ABA stuff to come.

After reading the book, I have started to believe that this film was actually based on true events.
