Well, I don't have much insight as to their front office's current projections for T. Ross and if those evaluations differ from their scouting reports when he was drafted 8th overall just last year, but my gut tells me they'd want to add a more long-term asset than Sessions, maybe the POR pick.

We are essentially giving them 1 year of salary cap relief and the 13th-14th pick for T. Ross.

Even though Gordon is a guard, they really need a shooter to compliment Derozan.

Gordon would be a perfect 6th man for them and T. Ross could be the same for us or more.

What if they wanted Gordon + Biyombo for Ross + Bargnani?

Ross is a rich man's Taylor. They could have Taylor as well if they need a guy to play his role.

Gordon, Taylor, Sessions, Portland pick

for

Bargnani, Ross

Even though I've soured on Bargnani considerably from a couple years ago, I'd do this in a heartbeat. We'd just have to bring up a PG from the D-League or elsewhere. I heard that Iverson guy needed some money...

I love how this evolved from a speculative tweet about us maybe being interested in Bargnani to "Charlotte wants Bargnani"

It seems like a tad too much. Toronto doesn't really have a taker for Bargnani and they're steamrolling towards a luxury tax pickle so I think we have some leverage. Take out Sessions and the deal seems even imho.

Gordon + Taylor + POR pick for Bargnani + Ross

We are essentially giving them the 13th-14th pick + Taylor + cap relief that they can only get from us in exchange for Ross. They can find the same value in Gordon as we do with Bargnani.

We'd need to give quite a bit to get Ross. I didn't even think he was lottery talent before the draft, but he's shown a lot to tell me he's got a bright future. He's probably one of the smartest moves the Raps have ever made. I might venture to say he could be a shorter Paul George. Ross is literally a perfect fit to MKG (better fit than Lamb) and could form an excellent defensive pairing while providing the athletic dunks and the 3s that we desperately need next to MKG.

I'm obviously assuming Ross isn't untouchable, which he very well could be.

Ok, I see your point. You're thinking their front office remains as bullish as they were when they drafted Ross 8th. That could be. I still think the money relief is a huge part of this deal and it gives us leverage. They leveraged cap space to acquire Rudy Gay for bench players.

I think Sessions alone can be leveraged in a separate deal for more value.

Charlotte would really have to like Ross as much as you do. But it's possible.

The only part of your post I take exception to is the fact that cap space is their biggest issue. It really isn't, unless they're going to convince Gordon to opt out or something this year. If they were really looking for cap relief now, then we could offer Gana Diop and Warrick to them instead of Gordon, take back wither Taylor or the pick and we'd still have a deal. I don't have a big deal with keeping Grumpy Cat Ben Gordon till the end of the year and then trading his expiring deal for a big one Bad Porn style.

give up on ross its not going to happen. it would like them asking for MKG in the deal. you guys need to be working on amir johnson they are so thin at PF i dont think they would let him go.

Ross is blocked by a guy who makes nearly 20 million for 3 more years and someone they just gave 10 million too for the next how many years? He's 22 years old.

I doubt, highly doubt he's untouchable.

The question is price and we're trying to get a gauge on that.

they arent trading ross. move on from that point.

bargs for gordon is about as good of a return as we can expect.

bargs wont solve anything for us or make us much better, but he'll have more value than gordon in a year, once another year is removed from that deal.

cho would simply be collecting assets.

i am definitely in favor of gordon for bargs. i think its worth the extra year for bargs to improve our scoring and frontline. plus, you never know, maybe bargs just needs a change of scenery.

if not, it adds to the growing list of 1st round busts that higgins has traded for:

I believe we could lure Terrence Ross from the Raptors with a package around the Portland pick and Diop's expiring contract in exchange for one of their bad contracts like Kleiza.

CHA receive: Andrea Bargnani, Terrence Ross, Landry Fields, Linas Kleiza

TOR receive: Ben Gordon, DeSagana Diop (expiring), Jeffery Taylor, Portland 1st rounder

I wouldn't be so quick to pull the trigger on this deal but if we're that desperate to get rid of BG then this isn't a bad exchange.

I'm all for trading Gordon, and Bargs would be someone the FO should consider bringing in (even though many of the posters pointed out the similarities between him and Mullens), but to absorb Fields' and Kleiza's contracts... I'm not so sure about that. Even if we get back Ross in return.

I am ok with AB, but I don't want to take on some bad contracts to get Ross also. AB would be a better asset than BG. If this is the best we can do for BG, I trust Cho.

That would be the worst lineup in the league.

Nothing lethal about that lineup unless you're referring to basketball suicide
