No matter how they try to flip it, Kemba Walker is better than Brandon Knight. Walker might not be a pass-first PG, but he is a better PG, better offensively, better defensively, and a better floor leader than Knight is. Speaking of who is and who's not a "pass-first PG", "true PG", and blah blah blah, here's Hollinger's scouting report on Knight:
+ Scoring-minded, very quick combo guard who can slash to hoop. Drives to score.

I wasn't wild about Knight a season ago and I'm still not now, as he added to the Pistons' collection of shoot-first combo guards by posting the fifth-worst pure point rating at his position and struggling to convert off the dribble.

And while he got to the basket at a decent clip, he neither drew fouls nor found teammates.

He's not a starting-caliber point guard and may never become one, but his potential as a scorer and defender could make him an ace third guard.

Perhaps Knight's best stat is 21, his age in December.

Awesome GIF.

So much for the Pistons making the PO's this season as their fans promised all offseason...sigh

 What does that even have to do with the conversation at hand?

That comment wasn't directed at you but I'll answer, it has everything to do with it really though I suppose...

The Piston's fans have gone from guaranteeing making playoffs to trying to make bets with Charlotte Bobcats fans over who will have the best record come the end of the season...

Oh how the mighty have fallen...

It has nothing to do with a thread about Kemba Walker. You were baiting and its just that simple. Its sad. You say all these things, but have yet to give a reason why you won't back it up.

lets keep this pistons/bobcats debate civil fellas. no need for mudslinging. just discuss the players w/out the extra comments.

SAY MO ****, FATS! READING RAINBOW!!!!

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the last few pages have been trying to drag Kemba's play down to Knights, when he should be compared to Lawson and Lowry and the other high-mid tier guards?

I'm totally down for a sig bet. Let me know Sik! We can then go back to watching our teams and end the back and forth.

i need to watch knight a few more times this year before my opinion on this matter is firm. i wasnt particularly impressed with either player last year to be honest. knight just didnt seem to do anthing particularly well, just average across the board. while kemba was a trainwreck with his fg% and shot selection, his defense was good.

however, kemba looks fantastic so far this year. i think kemba has some elite skills that he can build on for the next few years - quickness, handles, penetration, defense and getting to the ft line. as long as kemba is the focal point of a bad offense with zero post players, kembas fg% will struggle. he is forced to take so many tough shots, especially at the end of shot clocks and in crunchtime. his fg% will always be a little misleading. his shot selection is what really matters. that part of his game has improved.

what elite skills does knight possess? what are the areas of his game that piston fans look at and think - knight can be one of the best in the league in this particular area. (this isnt a snarky comment, rather a legitimate question).

Knight is a bit puzzling in that he's been a different player in both years. Last year, Knight was decent at putting the ball in the basket. He was able to use his quickness to get in the lane and was at the level at of Rondo finishing at the rim. He had a floater that was an excellent tool for finishing over bigs. His biggest knock was distribution and turnovers. This year, Knight has been asked to be a facilitator. He's been overly unselfish and the only shots he's really taking are rare jumpers off screens. He's been doing a better job taking care of the ball and has been doing a great job finding teammates. One of the main problem is, we lack a knock down shooter. Our only one is now wearing a Bobcats uniform. I think when Knight puts his scoring prowress and distributing together (I'm thinking next year, his 3rd year, as is the case with most PGs) he'll be an above average starter in this league and might be able to crack the Top 10 before his next contract.

Not our fault. It's a Pistons fan trying to drag Kemba down Brandon Knight's (lol) level and then making even less sense from there.

the pistons arent as bad as their record and we arent as good as ours. thats a dangerous bet for both sides.

That's the point I'm making. What kind of person is willing to risk that much money? Certainly not the same kind of person who wanted to bet a 5 dollar gift card, that kind of person doesn't care about 5 dollars enough to bet it. Something is fishy here.

Also, am I the only one who enjoys DMX here?

I already said that I've have to change it slightly if I bet.

I do think the Pistons will end with the better record so I'm willing to sig bet you that Kemba ends with a higher PER than Knight provided both players play more than 66 games (so injuries aren't a factor)

PER is the best way to see a players true impact on the game, you willing to wager?

It would have to be more than 1 criteria for me because I've never been a fan of PER to measure a player. (CP3 is not greater than Magic and Jennings is not > Rondo)

I'd be willing to do 3 categories. So who ever wins 2.

PER, TS%, Ast/TO.

@ 'Sik Infant', you better take that bet. I'm sure Kemba will win PER and Ast/TO without a doubt. Knight is a turnover machine that had 5 turnovers to 1 assist last night. Eww

Knight just isn't that good, period.

Good Idea and count me in Combo.

Let's leave this at that.

Fats you get this? I'll probably forget by the end of the season (and I don't want too 'cos Kemba got this)

Sig bet official
