it still looks pretty good compared to last year even if it still has flaws. cant wait until the first preseason game. hopefully there will be a stream (i think there will be. Philly is playing it on their local TV)

He can kink out the elbow ordeal next off season. Hes still going to be pretty inconsistent with his shot though, but at least it looks a lot better.

Just the thought of Hobe being the reason why MKG won't get 30 plus minutes a game aggravates me.
I can't wait to see How good Hendo will be as a 6th man.
Well he never plays well when depended on so I doubt he'd be of much use as the leader of the 2nd team's offense. I just want him gone if we could find another solid wing with size like we had with CDR.

I think this is going to be a breakout season for MKG that'll be overshadowed by the fact that he'll only play like 24 minutes a game so we'll be pointing to per 36 numbers and whining because Clifford won't play him more despite having better advanced numbers than the depth at his position on the roster.

Yeah, that Clifford is a real dumbass.
That is sarcasm.

Re: OMFKG! The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Thread II
We have some pretty good depth on the wings this year. Id be content with 26-28 minutes a game for MKG to be honest.

As much of a positive effect MKG has despite not being a offensive threat I want him on the floor 30 plus minutes until it's proven that he's a net negative. Because it's proven that Hendo can be a net negative on a winning team.

Or I'm a huge fan of holding off on criticism of rotations and our coach at least until the season starts.
It's just surprising to me that we have a coach coming off his first season as a head coach who has talked about implementing more complex schemes and who has had some fairly major roster changes yet folks act like they know what they are going to get.

Me being critical of Clifford's possible rotations doesn't change the fact that I think he's a very good coach. Eh nobody's perfect. All I'm saying is that I hope to see more MKG than Hendo. I don't wanna see split or equal minutes either. MKG should get 30 and I'm fine with Hendo only getting about 15-20 since he's not much of a difference maker in my eyes.

Everyone should come to the realization that between backing up both wing positions.... Or possibly even starting.... Henderson is going to see a solid amount of minutes.

I don't think anybody's questioning that Hendo is going to see starter or near-starter minutes- it's just that it shouldn't be at the expense of MKG playing against starters.

This is an excellent point, makes me want to find a trade parter for Henderson even more than I did before.

For all the talk about how Cliff has praised MKG, the facts are he was the starter who played the least amount of minutes, and he's also the one player on this team that doesnt fit Cliff's system. Hendo will take his minutez just like Taylor, Tolliver, CDR, and Neal did last year. Someone here used Faried as an example of how a high motor player can make a team better from his role on the US team, well..I agree, MKG can do that and more since he has more offensive abilities, most dont even realise he can actually score cause we keep stressing his one weakness. And Faried wouldnt get the PT here either cause he's not a stretch 4, we'd put him at the top of the key, ask him to shoot jumpers and then rip him for not having a jumper and then say how mcroberts is better, the same thing we do with MKG.

Re: OMFKG! The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Thread II
We've invested too much in MKG to allow obstacles to prevent him from becoming the player he is capable of becoming. If Clifford continues to play other guys in front of MKG and it's obvious that it's hurting team performance than he either needs to be called out for it or the front office needs to take matters into their own hands and trade Henderson.

Re: OMFKG! The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Thread II
They tried to trade Henderson twice now, that we know of. They couldn't get a first the one time and the next they couldn't give away a first to move him for 1 year of Afflalo (He will obviously opt out). In light of this MKG-Hendo competition, I'm starting to believe had Afflalo been brought in, Lance Stephenson would have still been a target and Afflalo would be the guy here to replace MKG. I think this is how the wings ranked in the Hornets front office:
Afflalo
Lance
Henderson
MKG
Afflalo
Lance
Henderson
MKG
It has been written...

Re: OMFKG! The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Thread II
Pretty sure the reports were we weren't willing to trade the Portland pick for Afflalo, of course if we did it would've happened since Afflalo ended up being traded for scraps.
Baseless wing rankings:
Lance
MKG
Afflalo
Hendo
Though I don't think we go after Lance if we get Afflalo.

no it was the other way around. Hennigan is just an idiot and really liked Fournier or something.
