I would rather get Dieng, Zubac or Holmes then overpay for Turner. Monk for Zubac or Holmes is a-OK with me though.

Is he though?
I know stats don't paint the entire picture and I'm not familiar enough with Dieng. He's a 31 year old C that has lesser numbers than a 28 year old Zeller.
Dieng - 17 mins - 8pts/4.5rbds which is his career average too, so he seems consistent
Zeller - 22 mins - 9pts/7rbds
I'm all for pondering all options to help improve that spot, so is it a case of Dieng being more valuable than his stats? Does he fix our deficiencies at the 5?

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Being 31yo, he's not a long term solution, but if their immediate goal is to make a playoff run this year and he can be picked up for next to nothing after he clears waivers, he makes great sense.Soul Rebel wrote:dmutombo321 wrote: He's better than any center hornets currently have in the roster and whenever he gets meaningful minutes, he delivers.

His raw starts are deceptive as he's never really gotten an opportunity and had been relegated to career back up minutes behind KAT in Minny and Jonas in Memphis.
When you sort his stats to only show games where he's getting meaningful time and logging at least 30 minutes, you'll see some of the performances he's displayed. Also worth YouTube him where some of those same games are posted..

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I like the idea of Graham, Zeller and second rounder for Satoransky and Wendell Carter Jr.
Not sure it makes a ton better this year, but WCJ would be a young center option. Satoransky is under contract next year for 10 Million , but only 5 of it is guaranteed. Satoransky can hold down the starting job while Melo is out and his size is a nice fit with Monk and Rozier.
Graham gives the bulls a free look at Graham, they are reportedly looking for a point guard. Zeller is an expiring to make deal work and they also get out of money for next year of Satoransky.

If we try to get win now players and sell our future I will be livid.
If we go after reclamation projects like Lauri, WCJ, Lonzo, Bamba, etc. I will be alright with that.
If we go after Sabonis, that would be awesome. Pacers need an alpha shooter and Terry fits that bill.

And when the Hornets fail to make a deal, we'll be talking about Kupchak's manhood from now 'til the summer.

Dude the bulls don't even know if Carter is a PF or C, no thanks.

Sometimes the best move is no move at all.

This is a good thought, though after 40+ games this year, our deficiencies are clear and obvious. If there's a young-ish player that is more than a rental that helps fix those, while not giving up the farm, I would be disappointed with Mitch & Co. if we did nothing.
As fans, we've been trying to figure out the long-term direction and it looked clear early this offseason....but then they signed GH & extended the cap hit w/ Batum this year. Sh*t or get off the pot. This team as constructed probably gets bounced in the first round and depending on what other teams around us do, might even be a "play-in game" participant.

Would Indiana do Terry plus Miles for Sabonis?

I just hope we stay away from Montrezl...think he's a bit overrated and would hate to give away any of our assets for him.
I would like us to find a way to get some sort of C upgrade/rental/prospect...

No chance but we can hope. Sabonis is such a good offensive player.

The odds of them beating a Philly, Brooklyn or Minny in the first round 7 game series were remote to begin with even with melo healthy. Even more unlikely now, even if they can hang on and score a 7th or 8th seed.... So they could always become sellers instead... Word is Denver is offering up Bol Bol and looking to upgrade their
backup point... Graham for Bol Bol anyone?

Maybe they're still having a pity party. I mean, who wants to win and go to the playoffs and stuff. Gotta protect that draft slot.
All therapeutic sarcasm aside (I beg your forgiveness), making stupid trades is stupid. I have to believe Mitch Kupchak is smart enough to not make a stupid trade.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
There’s so much that could go wrong with trading for Lonzo
- He demands to be paid more than what we want to pay in the offseason but yet we don’t want to piss off Melo so we overpay to keep his brother
- We don’t resign Lonzo and it pisses off Melo
- We show favoritism to the Ball brothers thus creating a rift in the lockeroom
- Lavar Ball demands we sign Gelo to complete the trifecta
I say hell no to Lonzo

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
No to Bol Bol, a skinny lad who barely rebounds and has few skills. Not sure why some are so unwilling to deal for a quality 5 like Turner. Have no idea what it would take but Graham, Miles and our pick (top 5 protection) would easily be part of that in my book. I want to continue developing PJ (I hope he gets dedicated to improving). Miles and Graham seem forever drifting talents that can’t get over their limitations.
I don’t think Mitch is willing to do much anyway. Whenever you hear of anything, he’s always kicking the tires with his old Lakers team on some retread. Expand your horizons Mitch!

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
