I would have rather have DeRozan tbh, but we must move on from the past.
Derozan got 76, so 1 mill more
Last year not fully guaranteed.

That way we have just enough team control over him to have leverage for a trade deadline trade for a propect and a first round pick to a contender ala PJ but we aren't commited to a ticking time bomb for 4 or 5 years if he has a down start to next season.
$30 million would be clearly bidding against ourselves, unless Utah pull a surprise in the next day or two.

Yeah I decided to get people a little fired up last night. Half those people regardless of what they say would be elated if they trades or signed him outright.

doesnt even bother me if people just wanna say "Miles Bridges sucks" or hes a scumbag or whatever, thats fine
when people say "i could/would never root for my team if they signed this guy" isn't that though, thats literally just attacking Hornets fans like they're all morally superior to us if we elect to continue rooting for the team. when literally every team in every sport has shitheads up and down their roster/staff/front office
**** Magic fans morally condemning me while their team owners started **** Blackwater, **** off. absolutely braindead

I'm a Charlotte native and started rooting for the Hornets back in the 90's. Haven't bothered with the GB thread. I've never rooted for any other NBA team. Pretty much gave up following the team more recently due to being unwilling to subject myself to Cliff 2.0 and Miles. Now that the team has a new coach the biggest thing I'm struggling with is whether or not to invest energy into caring about a team with Miles Bridges on it. I've been pretty excited about a lot of the other things going on Hornets wise, but this may be my make or break factor.
That other teams have dudes like this isn't a factor for me. If anything it's further proof that I should be looking elsewhere.
Robot Rock wrote:Meh, people who comment on teams they don't like are, 99% of the time, woefully uneducated on subjects they think they command. Every guy sucks until he's on my team, then I'll hard-sell him regardless. If Detroit signed Bridges, he'd be thought of as a perennial all-star by the same people who claim he's garbage. And any board who has a guy comparing Brandon Miller to Nic Batum doesn't deserve one atom of consideration.

Looking forward to mid December when he is tradeable again. Certainly we can get 2025 draft capital from teams trying to boost themselves up a couple of spots in the standings.
Braggins wrote:Yeah, I was hoping they could trade him (for the right deal), but this seems like a reasonable enough contract for him. Theres definitely still risk at that price, but they did what they probably needed to do.
Now that they have their GM, coach, and all their main offseason moves done, lets start firing and upgrading the medical/training staff.

They already did that.
