He probably did, I just don't remember a flood of players, coaches and reporters coming out in support of it.

Well, how many players Dunlap had coached before he gets the job actually made to it NBA...

He was with the Nuggets from 06-08 as an assistant and worked in the same role at a lot of big programs in college basketball. Yet, there wasn't a swarm of positivity upon the hire.

With Clifford, it seems the consensus is the Bobcats might have got this one right. Assuming they give it time, he could be one of the next great assistant hires.

I'm interested to see how Clifford, Malone and Budenholzer, three assistants who've been praised for an extended period time, do in their first jobs.

Cats will hold 2:30pm media presser today at Time Warner Cable Arena to introduce the team's new head coach. SportSouth will carry the presser live without interruption according to Bobcats facebook page.

i dont think its fair to compare clifford and dunlap (or vincent). clifford has a lot more NBA coaching experience than either of our two previous first time head coaches.

Very nice article. I am pretty sold on this guy, I know the press usually builds up a move but hes really been around the league and everyone seems to love him. I haven't heard anyone say a negative thing about him yet, other than the fact that hes like a defensive coordinator, but to me that's not a bad thing at all. I'm really excited about hearing him talk today.

Bonnell actually did a really good job for once.

I liked everything he said, but remember, we were just as optimistic with Dunlap until late November.

I think we made the right hire, though. This team is going to look very sexy next offseason and we'll have a lot of bandwagon fans, especially if the ping pong balls fall our way.

gotta give it up - good stuff from bonnell. he is at his best with background type stuff, showing off his breadth of knowledge and connections around the league.

Red Dog is almost as articulate of a talker as Dunlap.

I disagree. He's fine but doesn't have the suave of Dunny.
