I was watching the Allen Iverson story on YouTube TV and learned he led his HS to back-to-back state championships, first in football and second in basketball. He did prison time for a bar fight his senior year in highschool. He was raised by a single mother. It all came together for him when he went #1 overall and adapted to a hard-nosed coach and mentor in Larry Brown. I feel JB would be the perfect father figure to Edwards with MJ. Edwards Edwards Edwards!

Man I dunno, I'm pretty scared of Edwards. I actually am not really worried about anything having to do with his skillset, and am more worried about the fact that he's never been a part of a winning program. I read somewhere that he's never been on a team that finished over .500, which I think is super scary.

He will fit right in.

You've been holding out on us! Get us the goods.

It's one of those his lady is friends with his lady, so it is not the tightest connect yet. However, my brother is a sport head like myself so I am sure we will get in there for some additional dirt soon enough.

A nugget from their conversation though. The Hornets were so low on Josh Jackson based on his background check a few years ago they completely removed him from their draft board. So whoever is posting about us getting him in FA I think that is very unlikely.

Does the Cody pick look bad? I mean besides Giannis, Gobert, Oladipo, and McCollum, I don't see anyone that today has a ton more value than Cody.

It's time you all know I was raised by a single mom. And the fatherless are tough. We take matters into our own hands at some point. And my favorite NBA player of all time is Iverson. He's the most tenacious competitor I've ever watched play in my life next to MJ.

Draft memories - I remember in 2016 when I was down to wanting us to pick either Brogdon and Zubac, I went to a wings place to watch the draft, and while I was sitting there before the draft I learned that we traded the pick for Marco.

That was my least enjoyable draft watching experience.

It's not that Cody is TERRIBLE, I mean I expect Wiseman to last a while in the NBA too. It's a 'worse than Cody pick' in that there will be better guys that the team could have drafted and people will grouse about how terrible it was that our FO picked him.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

2nd worst draft watching experience - being a big Duke fan (at the time) and watching Winslow fall to us, only for us to pick Frank. That was not awesome.

Celtics - Warriors discussed Marcus Smart for pick 2 with the Celtics gunning for Wiseman.

The nbadraft.net guys seem to think a trade up with Minnesota is almost a done deal. I don't know if they actually have any sources, so take it with a grain of salt.

Honestly I half way expect it. Just hope that any deal isn't too bad if it happens.

People like to trash that Cody pick while forgetting how awful that draft was at the top. We are very lucky to come away with a half way decent player

My 11th hour hot take is that I can't tell what is smoke and what is fire and have no idea what I think is going to happen in this draft. I haven't felt so in the dark about whats really going on with any draft in recent memory.

Edit: It almost seems like teams have mostly been gunning for Wiseman this entire time.

Your memory is a lot better than mine but that's obvious cuz you're smarter than me. I barely "memba kemba"

I will give you a sneak peek at my final top 5:

1 - Ball (not sure if Wolves keep or trade)
2 - Wiseman (Warriors)
3 - Edwards (Hornets)
4 - Avdija (Bulls)
5 - Toppin (Cavs)

Notes:

Bulls want to trade up for Ball (offering WCJ + 4 while Wolves want Lauri + 4)
Knicks want to trade up for Toppin (8 + 23)
Celtics want to trade up for Wiseman (Marcus Smart into the Warriors trade exception)
Thunder want to trade up for Nesmith (25 + 28, trying to swing 18 in sign-and-trade for Gallo

Risers: Saddiq Bey, Jalen Smith, Desmond Bane
