Not a single word about the Hornets HC.

Don't want to make this a race thing. But I'm 190 percent sure if 90 percent of the other nba teams hired an African American coach Stephen A on first take would at least acknowledge it. Lol. That doesn't even happen for us.

I appreciated Lee's energy during his press conference. he expressed genuine pride at being the coach of the Charlotte Hornets. that matters. the vision for the team wasn't really fleshed out very much, but it does seem, at this point, that he will be a breath of fresh air in the franchise

Rex Chapman's kid is on our coaching staff too? This is the best vibe this team has had going into a new season in a long time. I don't even care what happens with Miles Bridges at this point.

Seems like a very young staff too. Jent is the only one that looks past 50.

i wondered if that chapman was related. i love rex. love him. such an amazing dude, fighting the good fights, owning up to all his past mistakes, shining light on ncaa corruption. just a great guy.

I know a lot of us are jaded and cynical after years of ineptitude and futility, but a coach leading with this much energy is really nice to see.

If you can say anything about Gen Z, it's that they recognize when someone working with them loves their job. Lee seems to exude passion and hopefully can match it with in-game schemes/decisions. Hornets SL played technically sound tonight. They bought in.

Let's hope he doesn't burn himself out. This is a 3+ year commitment for us to win a playoff series I'd imagine, if not more. That being said, can’t ask for anything more than this as a start:

Loving everything he’s doing so far and we don’t have Ben Gordon to tell him to humble himself this time

I like what I am seeing so far. It is just summer league, but given what we have seen the last few years in summer league he seems like a difference maker.

Charles Lee call-in on the Wes & Walker podcast:
--BMIll suiting up in Vegas: "Hornets culture", "everyone's gonna work", "nobody's above anything"
--trying to manage Tidjane's playing time in Vegas, kid was banged up heading into the draft
--playing five-out: "I want a big to, number one, protect the paint", but likes seeing different skillsets, thinks Mark could stretch it
--how is LaMelo doing health-wise: "great", "he and I... been in contact a ton", "in the gym a lot"
--want to see from a healthy LaMelo: "had a pretty good offseason", "harping on the most... focused on... competing on defense", "defense needs to fuel our offense", "push the envelope... guard different positions... different coverages... keeping guys in front"
