I honestly think he can still be salvaged as a valuable player, but we have to play him at a different position. We need to move him to SF as MKGs backup for several reasons....

1. Those minutes are up for grabs because we have no true backup.
2. This will put him in a better position on offense, where he won't be asked to shoot so many threes.
3. On defense he has the size and strength to guard most SFs instead of quick SGs.
4. He can help on glass more from the 3 instead of the 2.
5. He moves into the point forward role, which allows us to put more shooters around him.
6. By playing as MKGs backup, they will hardly be on the floor together, which is great because neither can shoot from range.
7. This opens up more minutes at SG, for either our 9th pick or PJ, Hendo, and Daniels, so adds shooting to rotation.
8. He can still use his quickness to get by SFs and pick and roll game will be even better.
9. With MKG being injury prone, he gives us a high potential starter.
10. It simulates a fresh start in his mind and coaching staff that he can excel in a new role.

I think he can have an evan turner type impact by moving to the 3.

Fans on other teams assume that Charlotte will give up value to just get rid of Lance. While that might be theoretically possible, I don't think it's likely - mainly because they could more easily just cut him and possibly use the stretch provision on his remaining 1 year of salary if they really wanted to. It doesn't make sense to give up draft value to just get rid of him while those options are still on the table.

Now, I DO think that it's possible that they could trade Lance other players of "lesser" value (obviously relative at this point) or trade the pick for another player and include Lance in the deal to make salaries match.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Call me crazy, but I think Lance is our starting SG next year. Just a hunch.

Never know. He has the physical tools to be a really, really good SG. I think he got a big head after signing that contract. If he really is committed to staying in charlotte the entire offseason and working on his game he's easily our best SG.

Hey, if Clifford really did want him then I'm convinced it's Lance's job to lose.

Well having statistically the worst 3 point shooting season in nba history will definitely do that. Surely he can do better then 17%, or whatever it was

its pretty much a contract year for Lance as well, you would think he would be working his ass off this off season

Even more than the shooting is that Lance and Kemba fill pretty much the same role. They both need the ball in their hands in order to do what they do and they both suffer when there is someone else on the court that needs to dominate the ball in the same way.

Be hard for him not to know what he needs to be working on. Glad he's working hard. Big year for both him and us coming up.

It's good to see he's at least putting in some work. I wish we still had Mark Price and maybe he could help him out a bit. Lance gets no lift off his feet on his jumpshot.

Yeah, good to see him practicing his shot but those clearly weren't game speed and I'm really hoping he focuses on getting some more lift. To me his shot in those videos looked like warmups, not training reps.

With that said, what do I know - I'm sure his trainer knows what he is doing.

I liked the second one. At least moving from spot to spot between shots seems useful. The set shots with no lift just don't seem that applicable.

It is nothing special. Jump shots look the same but he is moving back and forth and setting his feet. Still no lift on them and low release.

He's probably just working on the stroke, then worrying about the rest. I doubt he's shooting set shots in games.
