Salute Big Al. Great season, exceeded expectations, and played thru injuries. Always will have respect for a player like that.

Much respect for playing through the injury. I may not be a fan, but he'll always rank higher than Pussyfoot Chandler on my all-time favorite Bobcats list.

Why is it pathetic? Some of us think money could have been better spent. I respect what he did but I am still not sold this was the right move for the team to make.

Seriously. I get that you don't like how he is used on this team, but he just posted the best season of any Bobcat ever. You should show him respect for a lot more than how he played against Miami.

By any and all standards, Bi Al just registered an incredible season. By Charlotte pro basketball standards it was among the best ever. He LITERALLY carried this team to a huge jump in wins and into the playoffs.

Thank you Al for a great, memorable season. I pray you heal well and come back better than ever as our CHARLOTTE HORNETS take the next big step!

I honestly can't tell if folks are intentionally trolling or not, but I think so. You can critique Clifford all you want for the offense that's in place, but no one in the NBA would be as productive at executing it as Jefferson. Disliking our offense doesn't mean you have to belittle the best player in our franchise's history coming off the most productive performance in our franchise's history. That just makes you look petty IMO.

Big Al has done more for this team than any other Bobcat has ever done. He took us out of the abyss of horrible lottery teams and made us relevant again. If he was actually healthy this offseason we maybe could've squeezed a game out of the Heat. We have a few more missing pieces left and we will be good to go. I'd like to thank Big Al for being an outstanding player/leader/mentor for this team.

I have utmost respect for Jefferson, and he was #1 on my free-agent signing list this past offseason by far over other options like Millsap. I also have the same mutual respect for Clifford, even though I disagreed with his rotations. Running the offense through Jefferson was not a problem, but the inflexibility of it was because it was too predictable for opposing defenses. I knew the gameplan would be exposed in the playoffs because all a team had to do was watch game tape to realize the offense was the 'Alfense' or Kemba in the pick-and-roll. The fact that we didn't use sets to get other players involved throughout the season is biting this team in the ass right about now. It was too simple for a coach like Spoelstra to realize all they had to do was trap the ball out of Kemba's hands, play the passing lanes to make McRoberts a scorer, and front Jefferson on the block. Not having a healthy Jefferson hurt, but Clifford would've been outcoached regardless because the Heat knew our next move

The Heat knew our next move because we have two players capable of generating offense when they have a defense's attention. Folks are acting like we had other productive options on offense that we neglected.

My fellow Jazz fans were clamouring to let the young guys play. Well, everyone sees how that worked out. I missed Big Al so much this year. It gets old watching loss after loss and actually hoping the team loses so they can get a better pick. I'd MUCH rather watch wins! Much love to Big Al Jefferson from this Jazz fan. I'm glad he found some fans who appreciate what he does.

Best of luck next year, Hornets fans! I'll be pulling for the Hornets in every game except against the Jazz.

I really wanted to post on your board about how you guys really missed Al and Millsap thinking that the young bloods would bring almost the same production, but I didn't because I didn't want to be a troll.

If you guys would have had the right coach I firmly believe Al, Millsap, and Hayward along with a good PG (Burke) would have been deadly.

Agreed. Ironically, the Jazz finished with the exact same 43-39 record last season as did the Bobcats this season. I personally wanted to roll with Big Al at C and Favors at PF this season. With Hayward, Burks and Burke, that would have been a fun team to watch. Oh well...

You have to admit.. Some of you jazz fans hated Jefferson last year. He played the exact same way this year, but different coaching philosophies do wonders.

BD, I get that being condescending is your shtick, but if respecting Big Al's production this season and not just his effort over three games makes you a superfan, then I guess the entire league is a superfan, given that he's getting strong consideration for an All NBA team. It baffles me why you can't bring yourself to say he had an impressive season by pretty much any standard.

Dave & Liver, I made the statement that Al's season was among the best ever for Charlotte pro basketball...not THE best ever. Believe me, I was in the building many times from the Hornet's first season on. Glenn Rice had THE best season ever in Charlotte. LJ and ZO also had their fine years. Big Al ranks right there among them.
