He said the new hairstyle will be ready by next year's annual visit to China. That's quite a ways from now, so I'm guessing this new hairstyle needs his hair to be really long. I'm calling it now, manbun.

Can you imagine the **** MJ the player would have said to Lin had they been teammates in the 90s? I assume 75% of it could not be repeated in Church. Alas, Jordan was a dick. He yelled at everybody.

That's 2 different situations. Jordan's Bulls was play to wins. Kobe on the other hands was chasing Jordan all time scoring and the rest of the Lakers organization were making sure Kobe get it at the expense of everyone. Last year Lakers is a bigger joke than the Knicks.

His release point is lower this year, getting closer to a Steve Nash like shot which is a good thing.

No idea, just stuff I found lying around JLinPortal. I'm not even a poster on that site, since I only read like a fraction of what's on that site when I happen by (reading a thread with hundreds or thousands of posts is a bit daunting and hard to follow unless you're a regular). I usually just sort by newest to get a quick hint of what's new. Threads are too large for me to dive into that immense community. I can't even fathom the size of the Chinese language sites (which I can't read) that I'm not able to access, if the English language ones already have a community that dwarfs the Hornets fanbase in size and activity.

Can't be worse than what he's displayed thus far, his bowl cut hairdo is ridiculous.

After the reception, he took off his suit and let his hair back down  It's like he's trolling his fans by going back and forth between super-saiyan and mushroom bowl cut.

I wonder what the Clippers think of the Hornets having homecourt advantage with Lin on the team?

Kind of like how the Knicks got homecourt advantage at every away game during Linsanity, with all the away crowds cheering for them instead of the home team.

I wonder what Cliff and Doc are saying to each other. Doc seems agitated with the hand gestures, and Cliff is calm as always.

Thanks Slam! I hope I haven't lost some respect over my concern for Lin's wellbeing haha. I'm just absolutely dumbfounded that an actual human being is doing this to himself.

New gamethread on JLinPortal...pretty sure it will overtake the gamethread here pretty soon despite the huge head start here.

Kwok Wai Lai at JLinPortal.com wrote:I'm just aware that they give a nickname to Kemba Walker (Sky Walker 天行者)
I almost think this is a dream team for Jeremy with so many friends and cheers.

Time for the mods to change the Kemba Walker thread title from "Is it December yet"? "Sky Walker: The Kemba Walker thread"

Hornets fans who are new to Lin may not know that Lin has a history with both Jeremy Lamb and Troy Daniels. He played with TD in Houston for I think an entire season. Jeremy Lamb was a rookie for the Rockets, and had training camp and all of preseason with Rockets (at time when Lin was supposed to be the new face of the Rockets) before he was traded for Harden. Lamb and Lin always seemed to get along well.

That's what is interesting so far for me is seeing how the Hornets have this hardworking likable group of players who I think will probably get along really well with Lin on a personal level. All of these combinations I can imagine being good ones

Lin-Kaminsky
Lin-Lamb
Lin-Batum
Lin-Kemba even
Lin-MKG for sure (it makes me sad that we won't get a chance to see this develop this season)
Lin-Zeller

They also seem like a group of players who will probably be willing to put team first. That was not the case with the Lakers last year, or the Rockets in year 2 of LIn's time there. Lin's pretty dogmatic about self sacrifice and trusting each other being a key to a good team

I wonder how long it took them to work up some JLin logo branded shoes in Hornets colors.

if you followed Yao Ming and the Rockets, you would know that the Rockets were treated like Rockstars whenever they went to China to play preseason games. I am seeing the same thing with the Hornets and Jeremy Lin. The fans are mobbing the Hornets whereever they go. I don't think the players would get this same experience in Charlotte. Right now, their popularity is off the charts... These Hornet players should realize they'll have a job in China after their playing days in the NBA is over. Many of Yao's former teammates played in the China Basketball Association... including Tracy McGrady.
"You can't stop Jeremy Lin fans. You can only hope to contain them."
