Still don't see how its possible we take Barnes, but Rich Cho and company are much more intelligent than I am (I think..)

From Bonnells interview, it sure sounds like the pick is between Kidd-Gilchrist and Barnes.

I think you gotta take MKG and try to teach his offense later.

It sounds like you've told Barnes you're taking him, otherwise he'd go to Sactown. I can't believe the Wizards would promise him (but then I can hardly believe you guys did). I hope I'm wrong.

Can you post these game tapes of Beal. I have not seen any full game highlights of him. Just to be sure your not making it up so Drummond looks better :D

Go watch the Florida vs Florida St game from earlier this year. Patric Young looked a thousand times better prospect than Beal in that game. All he did was cherry pick from three and he still wasn't even that efficient at that.

Where can I find that at?

So it was just this one game you watched?

They've been showing college basketball games with prospects in them on ESPNU lately. I've watched about 5-6 of his games this season from earlier, so I'm not writing him off completely based on this one game but this was a good game for him and I still thought he was just solid but no where near spectacular. You can say that about all these guys though, I really hope we can trade back for multiples b/c any single pick of Robinson, Beal, MKG, Barnes, Drummond, or Lamb is just so meh.

I'd take Drummond over Barnes, would be pretty pissed if they took Barnes at 2

DX is hilariously bad. They make bad predictions all year, then fall into line with the consensus like nbadraft.net as the draft draws nearer.

If this team selets a small forward who according to everyone is a good "shooter" with career averages of 44% from the field and 36% from three along with 73% from the free throw line than I will be more pissed off than I was when we selected Morrison.

Ridiculous. Beal, Robinson, Gilchrist, anyone over Barnes,

Beal shot 44% from the field, 33% from 3, and 76% from the line.

I think Barnes is as bad as anyone things, but Beal didn't do any better

you need to trust Cho, obviously he see's what I see in Barnes. Barnes is probably more raw to his true ability then any other player not named drummond in the top 6. Barnes is more athletic then MKG and already a better shooter, so why exactly should we take MKG instead? Morrison wishes he had the same physical talents as Barnes

Lol. Good point. But I bet Beal can get his own shot off. Im definitely not a proponent of either Beal, or especially Barnes. Ive been on the Gilchrist bandwagon (I guess im one of the few) since March.

You DO NOT draft a player who cannot create his own shot, and has trouble shooting. Barnes had two years to prove he could do either of the two, and he cant. I do not care if he can jump over the Dean dome, nor do I care if his shoulders bulge out of a XXX t-shirt. He is a physical speciman yes, but so is Corey Maggette,

And no, Im not comparing him to Maggette (Atleast not yet)

Excellent article. But the writer who picked MKG does what so many are doing here; ASSuming that he can be TAUGHT to have a quality jump shot. Folks, that is not an assumption one makes at junior high, high school or college, so why do people ASSume it's so much easier at the NBA level??? Again, I challenge everyone...name me more than a handful of players who had broken shooting mechanics coming into the league, and developed a butter jumper later??

The write up on Beal made good points about a player on the rise even as a freshman.

But read the article about Robinson without being prejudiced. The points are valid. Robinson will give us a major player at a key position, and provide post offense, rebounding, defense and heart to pair with Biz, Kemba & Hendo. We need to find a way to trade back up into the middle of the round to get a SF. Getting Robinson and another rookie starter at the 3 would be a blast. Yes, we would struggle as we grow, but we would compete and win more games. My ideal draft is Robinson and Perry Jones 3 or Harkless. I think Dunlap would love to add his guy to the new team. NBA mock has him going 19th. Maybe we can get a deal done with Houston for #16.

PG - Kemba
SG - Hendo
SF - Harkless
PF - Robinson
C - Biz

Key Reserves - Mullens, Maggs, Tyrus, DJ?, free agent?

Gilchrist is a baby. He will be 18 for another few months. I have full confidence in him that he will work his ass off and become a decent jump shooter, Shawn Marion learned to shoot from his ankles (sarcasm). But he had a nice career. And I believe Gilchrist will be much better.

Gilchrist is a better freethrow shooter than Barnes, and thats an indicator of shooting right there. Not saying by any means he will be a better shooter than Barnes, but he has a much better total package, Not even a debate in my view. Watch tape from the UNC Kentucky game this past year. Gilchrist flatout abused him with his physicality. Barnes looked like he was terrified.
